I don't like losing Karlsson plus a 4th, but this seems like the type of deal we might have to make. A deal that looks like a loss initially, but gets us under the cap and has some benefit long term.

He's the easiest to move given he's a short term commitment
I could see a deal with any of the Habs, jackets, preds, ducks or Sabres. Maybe more, depending on LTIR for some teams.

I'm guessing Beauvillier is traded before the start of the season.

I was going with the OPs idea of having a 2nd LD that can play alongside Hronny and shave
minutes off Hughes toi.
Hughes Cole
Dillon Hronny
Soucy Myers (sign Bear if Myers is traded).
One things for sure is that D corps is much tougher to play against.

Wow so no contract talks until after the season...
Imo that's a big risk for Petey. He gets injured and who knows what happens. He can secure the bag before the season.

imo a contract will be hammered out before the regular season. If it was me, it's awfully risky to risk injury with as much guaranteed money on the table available. This is just me guessing, but a contract is definitely going to be 6-8 years at 10.5-11 per. Hard to walk away from that.

Luckily he is still waiver exempt.
Forgot about that. Kind of a win/win situation for the big club. If Aman shows improvement we have a solid 4th line contributor, if he doesn't we gain a solid player on the farm.
Alvin's done an excellent job with what he's been given from Benning.

Not only does this signing give us some much needed center depth this year, but secures the 4th line center position next year with a very suitable player, if we decide to be aggressive and upgrade the 3rd line center position next offseason.
This might be the end for Amans tenure this upcoming offseason.

Sens also my eastern squad. Like their moves; similar to Van with a strong O, but perhaps light on D.
Imo they have a better defensive unit than us. They don't have a franchise altering dman, but overall a better unit.
Hughes- Cole
Soucy - Hronek
Brisebois - Myers
Chabot - Chychrun
Sanderson - Zub
Brannstrom- Hamonic

He still got 21 points in 31 games for the Rags and 4 points in 7 games in the playoffs. He is past his prime, but still a very useful player. Love this signing for them. Sens are a playoff team this year.

Awww, I really wanted to sign Oskar for the bottom 6 / pk, rw/c righty with size only if the canucks could move out some cap and a couple wingers.
If I had to choose any player that I'd want for the bottom 6 right now. I would probably pick Pius Suter.

Flyers trade
Travis Sanheim 27 years old LD 8 years x 6.25M
Scott Laughton 29 year old C 3 years x 3M
Vancouver trades
2024 1st(Conditional; top 5 protection)
2024 3rd
2025 2nd
Tyler Myers 34 year old RD 1 years x 6M
Connor Garland 27 year old RW 3 years x 4.95M
We reallocate our cap space by getting a #3 LD thats 1.6 years older than Hronek and solid 3C under a good contract. We also gain 1.7M in cap space for next season.
That’s after a year with Risto. 2023 is not up yet.
Flyers get a plethora of picks.
Vancouver lineup
Mikheyev-Petey-Kuzy
Beau-Miller-Boeser
???-Laughton-Pod
Joshua-Blueger-???
??? = Hog/Pearson/Aman/PDG
Hughes-Cole
Sanheim-Hronek
Soucy-???
??? = Irwin/Juulsen/Brisebois/Hirose/RathboneIMO this lineup is better equipped for playoffs and is a step towards building a contender.
Do we give up too much? Not enough? Rather keep the picks? Rather spend more for better?
Flame away.
I like both players, but for this to limit the risk of the trade, Flyers would definitely have to eat at least 1 million per year on that Sanheim contract.

Myers for Sturm is the only deal that would make sense for us.
Maybe Kunin.
Would love to add Kunin, but that's only if we were able to trade a winger away.

4.725M for Labanc. 5.875M in salary - no bonus per CapFriendly.
Well if that's the deal, I'm Glad they didn't do it. From one problem to another, too many wingers.

There ya go Allvin. Zadina could be the exact type of player they're interested in. A young, former high draft picked player who has struggled a bit to get going.
Could they turn Zadina into a player?
Where would you put him?
Hogs would be ahead of him in the depth chart.
We really need to trade a forward, especially with Pearson showing up for training camp.
Kuzmenko - Pete - Mikheyev
Pearson/Hogs - Miller - Boeser
Beauviller - Blueger - Garland
Joshua - Aman - Podkolzin
Love that Pearson could be back, very dependable player that can play on the PK, chip in 12-15 goals and is good along the wall.
We have to find a way to trade Garland.

Um... Detroit? What's the goal here?
Raymond - Larkin - Perron
Fabbri - Compher - Kubalik
Berggren - Copp - Sprong
Kostin - Kasper - Rasmussen
Walman - Seider
Edvinsson - Chiarot
Maata - Holl
Husso
Cossa
This just feels like a bunch of random guys thrown onto the same team along with Larkin, Walman and Seider. Are they trying to look like an expansion team minus the expansion draft?
Compher is a very good 3rd line center, but will he become a very good 2nd line center? That's a lot of cheddar to put out, based on a hunch. Yzerman has been making extremely questionable moves for the past 2 seasons.

This could be low risk high reward type of move. Especially with the ties to Mackinnon.

I rather have Oprah sit on my face after a brisk walk on a sticky summer day then watch Holl play or even put up with the fact that our organization thinks signing him would be helpful.
That sounds like a lovely evening.

I could see them resigning Bergeron if doesn't retire, signing Lucic, Wheeler and Duchene.

San Jose - Myers, Beauvillier, Kilmovich, Martin and a pick
Vancouver - Kahkonen and Kunin
Reasoning - San Jose cuts loose Kahkonen, who didn't have a very good season, although San Jose is horrible. Creates more playing time for Blackwood. They gain two assets that could be traded for more assets at the TDL and acquire a stop gap back up goalie, a pick, as well as a young PWF with potential.
We gain 4.65 million in cap relief to be a bit more tactical during the offseason, looking for value deals. Take on Kahkonen for one year to buy time for Silovs. Also, I just really like Kunin, feel like he could help our 3rd line with some grit and the PK. Not to mention he has played the wing and Center before, so that gives us more options.
Kuzmenko - Pete - Mikheyev
Hogs - Miller - Boeser
? - ? - Podkolzin
Joshua - Aman - Kunin
Hughes - ?
? - Hronek
Hirose - ?
Demko
Kahkonen
If both Pearson and Poolman are on LTIR this would give us over 16 million in cap space. More than enough to make a significant impact.
First I would target J.T Compher 3-4 year or O'Reilly on a 1-2 year contract.
For the sake of this.
Compher 4 years at 3.25 per
Soucy 3 years at 2.75 per
Wood 2 years at 2.25 per
Schenn 2 years at 2 per with NTC
Acquire C.Tanev for a 2025 2nd or 2025 3rd
Kuzmenko - Pete - Mikheyev
Hogs - Miller - Boeser
Wood - Compher - Podz
Joshua - Aman - Kunin
Hughes - Tanev
Soucy - Hronek
Hirose - Schenn
Demko
Kahkonen
This would leave us with a shade over 2 million in cap space to upgrade at the deadline if need be.
I think this would be a playoff team if no major injuries occur.
Thoughts?

Lines would probably look like
Kuz - Pete - Mikheyev
Pearson/Hogs - Miller - Boeser
Podz/Trenin - Suter - Garland
Joshua - Blueger - Trenin/Podz
Trenin would definitely make us a grittier team for sure.
