If I recall, he and his wife went to Whistler during covid lockdown and ended up getting the team sick. Guys like Sutter, Edler etc.

This is what I believe too. Heard it from an NHL buddy that the players with families were pissed. Hamonic's kid is immune compromised, and allegedly, it was Gaudette that went out when he was asked not to and got everyone sick. It is where Sutter got long hauler covid that he is still suffering from... allegedly lol

  2. Curious what people would think about bringing Milan home for minimal money. He fills a void that we clearly need in Vancouver. We need to protect our stars and have always done a poor job at this. We ship Schenn away, Dakota doesnt scare anyone, and even though he has slowed down, he can still put up a few points, log some minutes and lets face it, he still scares people. He's won a cup, knows what it takes and is good with the kids.I remember against ottawa, Watson caught petey with an elbow and it look like it dazed him. Burroughs stepped up and fought, and while he is a gamer and will always show up, he doesnt scare people, if Milan is on the ice/bench. Watson knows his face is going to be even more F*cked up if he extends that elbow.

I'm all for it, not sure what out bottom 6 looks like.

Vancouver had different ambitions than these teams heading into the season and will have also a different one heading into next season.  They want to make the playoffs.  Changing coach now is to start working on the structure so to be ready for next season.

All those 5 teams are in a rebuild.  Arizona and Chicago even admitted to actively tanking ahead of the start of the season.

I agree, they are trying to get ready for next year. Can’t help but have this glass-half-full view but I think they evaluate who they like and who they can work with and cut bait on the rest.

I hope miller is on the “who we can work with” chart or we are in big trouble.

I don’t mind the firing, makes sense, but sh***y how they handled it with Bruce who deserves more.

I also don’t kind the cut throat mindset of Rutherford. This might be an unpopular opinion. However, all these players and coaches are all just chess pieces and the goal is the cup. I don’t think being heartless or cold is bad, however we have to strike that Balance.

jt miller losing his shit on the bench before the disallowed goal for example. People we laughing and criticizing him for it, where as I love it, and I know for a fact from buddies who play in the league, players love that intensity as well.

I think we will right this ship and I think management is ready for it. Look at it from their point of view. They inherited this team, they inherited Bruce as a coach, this is their first chance to out their touch on it.

    lets see how it goes!!

    Is Quenville an option yet?

Before his departure from the league, he was the best coach in the game.
He could probably help tidy up this mess a bit.

I was wondering this too, but apparently Quenville is a real POS. I guess a good coach, few young players in Chicago might disagree, cough cough. But not sure we want to be the organization that welcomes him back to the NHL, same as Babcock.

that 'canuck games only' channel is a waste of space...I have YET to actually see a game on it.

Couldn't show last nights game, but they COULD show Dallas v Colorado ? makes no sense to me.

Hilarious you posted this. I literally was complaining yesterday, what is the point of that channel. They have nothing on there!!

I usually pay for NHL network, but even with that I won’t get the Canucks games due to local blackout or some sh*t.

He'd need to address the off-ice character concerns such as this one: https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nhl/penguins/2017/11/17/penguins-evgeni-malkin-joins-vladimir-putin-team/873638001/

I don't want someone who openly supports neo-Nazism and genocide to mentor our young players.

That Article is from 2017- but I wonder if his views are different now. For a reasonable contract- that like the OP suggest is heavily bonus laden, I would be tempted to listen. Especially if JT is traded for a RHD/prospect/&/or pick

Reminds me of a story about my uncle...

Mom and Dad shipped me off to Fort Nelson one winter to try to set me straight and to get me away from my boyfriend.  Was staying with my uncle and aunt, who happened to be my Mom's much younger sister and was more like a big sister to me.  She and her husband probably weren't the best "caretakers" of a juvenile delinquent at the time, as they both liked to party.  M & D had also shipped me there one summer and it was the summer of Dire Straits, vodka and Koolaid.

So my Uncle has a few then tells me to hop on the back of the skidoo...we're going on a trek to Parker Lake.   I wasn't really dressed/prepared adequately for the  weather but he grabbed a bottle of rum and said that would suffice...."we'll be fine".

Was a really nice journey out there....along the side of the Alaska Highway.  Was actually awesome and we bombed around until dusk and it started getting really cold, like -40 cold.  The journey back was, shall I say, an adventure.  By this time, very drunk uncle, laughing like a maniac and driving that thing like he was blindfolded, flipped it!   Skidoo and drunk uncle landing on me and me having to dig myself out from underneath the carnage in the snowbank.  Cold, wet, not cool.

Idiot uncle (my Aunt eventually divorced him, good move) lay there in the snow, with me coaxing him to right the skidoo and get us the hell back.  We did eventually make it back in the dark, my aunt was totally not impressed.  That was strike one with Uncle and I....3 strikes and he was outta there.  Like my aunt threw him out and, when he wouldn't leave, she threw his bicycle out into the driveway then ran over it a few times so he knew she was serious.  Yes, my family was that way...it's a miracle I survived to tell the stories.  And oh, do I have stories....

I’m learning so much about Deb tonight!! It’s awesome!!

  8. All and all I thought it was one of our better games of the season. Take the positives and run with the point. Miller good, petey looking like an alien again. Not much to complain about other than the refs. I even like what greener did with mixing the lines. I still think he needs a short leash but all and all and entertaining game and they did well to get a point out of a 2-0 game even tho they deserved more. Bring on the avalanche. Go nucks go
