Love the arm chair guys who may be 20-100 pounds overweight, having a beer and some nachos in their easy chair as they slam the team for a lack of effort.  Ignore a schedule that's insane to account for COVID because they should be robotic and never tire.

It's amusing as well as annoying.

So because someone disagrees with your assessment of the team, I'm now suddenly grossly obese? lol get a clue.

It's going to be really tough again tonight.     Since the season started, our guys have NOT had two days off in a row.  As a matter of fact, many days off they have had have been spent travelling.  I really see the schedule catching up with them right now.

Montreal's had a two and four day "rest" period already.  With another 6 days off coming up.  Seems so unbalanced and unfair right now.  One's set up to fail and the other to succeed.

They're exhausted I'm sure...not sure how that'll play out.  Dig deep, get some fresh legs in there (yes, Loui)...see where it goes.

    All I've got.

Stop using the schedule as a catch-all excuse for how the team has been playing, the effort hasn't been there for the most part. These guys are professional ATHLETES, they get paid millions of dollars to be in amazing shape both in strength and in stamina, playing 20 minutes of hockey every other night should not make them so unbelievably tired that they put in an effort like they did last night.

It's frustrating but the overreactions on these boards is laughable. Do people not realize there will be great stretches and bad stretches? That's exactly how it goes and this panic is so Leaf HF.

Sure the PP and pK sucks but it's 3 games. Once we have a good stretch the same people will be saying the complete opposite. Everybody step back off the ledge.

3 games this year, where all games are 4pt games is like the equivalent of 6 games dude, everything is magnified and the frustration is warranted.

I can't keep track, I thought we were still on millenials? Gen x was growing up in 90's right? What are they gonna call this social media whoring, protesting, SJW, soft handed, phone addicted, worthless next generation?

Boomers were like 45-65  Gen X was like 66-85ish Millenials were 86-95/96 Gen Z is 97- like 2006/2007? And I don't know what the generation after that is called.

and that's fine, I'll just continue calling you out for being toxic.

I love how if you don't like something or someone, and voice that opinion, by default to the SJW's of the world you're "toxic".

Don't even try denying that you're an SJW at this point because you're literally playing with their playbook and you can't convince me otherwise at this point.

WAHHHHHHHH he didn't like the announcer guy, better call him toxic. F&&k off.

Angry was probably the wrong word, but you guys definitely feel very strongly about this for some reason. Spending this much time and energy on such a tiny, not-important thing just amazes me. Surely you guys have something better/more productive to do

To you its a tiny detail, to some others its a big deal. It's what makes the world go around.

I like good play by play, it sucks you into the game. Bad play by play just = a boring game for me and I'm sure many others.

listen, if you want to shred dave randorf or mark lee or peter loubardias or any of the other reject play by play guys we've been subjected to over the years, I'll be right there with ya, and it's not a racial thing by any stretch of the imagination. it's about having reasonable expectations. those other guys have no excuse to be bad because they've had decades of opportunity and were still terrible at it. harnarayan singh has not, and the guy is trying to blaze a pretty noteworthy trail in the industry. give him a chance before you smash him back down to earth.

How many chances does one need to give someone before making their decision? I listened last night and I wasn't a fan, I'm a pretty decisive person. That's not to say my opinion can't be changed, but based on his call last night I wasn't fond of him.

And I'm allowed to feel that way. Not everyone has to be completely positive or agree with you 100% of the time. You feel your way and I'll feel mine.

I thought he was ok. I just burst out laughing when I heard that Yamamoto call.

It was too over the top. Great announcers get excited as the play develops and climaxes at the goal where there is energy. That Yamamoto call was trying too hard and manufactured.

I'm personally not a fan of most of the screaming/yelling over the top calls... I notice a lot of American announcers do it for some reason and its always cringe inducing for me.

The irony is you seem to be taking it very personal, yourself. Speaking of insecurities, you are now trying to explain yourself to an anonymous poster; that you have already called a 'Virtue Signaller"

Ad you  might want to stop using the "Virtue Signaller" jab,  that was way out of style last year.

I'll use whatever "jab" I feel like, thank you.

Also, when someone accuses you of assigning race to something, I have every right to explain to them my actual intentions. It's called communicating, so others understand you.

I'm as white as white gets, and I'm by no means a "white knight" or sjw. I'm just sick of needless negativity.

    Fair enough.

"Negativity" to me is subjective, what you find to be negative others might not see as being negative.

When I say something is brutal, its a colloquial term. Just another way of saying I didn't like it, not that it was literally brutal.

    WTF?

Now you are assigning race to people's opinions?

As to the play by play guy:

Good effort for a first timer. As the season progresses so will he, most likely.

Relax virtue signaler, I'm not "assigning race" I was asking them a question. I also notice how you very intentionally left out my question mark SIGNIFIYING THAT I WAS ASKING A QUESTION.

I put together that by the way he was defending him, and the arguments he was using were coming from a very personal place... As it's obvious that he's taking it very personally and maybe projecting some of his insecurities onto others and insinuating that people on here are racist because they didn't like him calling the game (which no one expressed at all).

  12. 1 minute ago, tas said:

because he's spent the last several years processing the game, thinking, and speaking to an audience in punjabi, not english, and this was his first time doing it in english, in real time, on the first night of the season, with hundreds of thousands of people watching.

it's not just the players who didn't get a preseason.

You're very avidly defending this man, which can only lead me to believe that you as well are Pubjabi? You need to chill dude, this isn't a racial thing for anyone who is criticizing... No need to be this guys white knight.

Guy just wasn't for a lot of people on here and that's fine, we know what we like and he's not it... At least not right now anyway.
