  1. All we have to think about is taking one more tough season and just go full tank for hometown Connor Bedard, Michkov or Fantilli. Get rid of all our over paid bogus contracts. Open up cap space for horvat. And get some actual solid Defence-men! Might as well bite the bullet this season! Full Tank now! Cut ties with all our bad contracts. Try to add  number 1 picks. Keep our young core! Petey, Horvat, Kuzmenko, Boeser, Michyev, keep Miller unless he wants a cup then trade for Number 1 pick to a to a contender, or somewhere else for a high number 1 draft pick. Keep Demko, Hughes, Bear, Borroughs. Schenn. Everyone else up for grabs or just play better perhaps…it’s gonna be painful! We Need a top 3! Hoping for hometown Bedard! That will instantly make this team better for the future! Just my opinion on this matter there’s no reason to add we can do that in the Off-season!

See my above post.  Let dough faced boy enjoy his "i've made a lot of money" routine somewhere else.   Glad they past on him for the 100 greatest players all/time.   Mogilny was better as was Bure and Federov.

Stats say different;) don’t get me wrong I loved Bure & Mogilny game a lot! Those were definitely favorite players growing for sure. Federov is a beast too! His resume speaks for itself! It’s not like Malkin asking for an absurd amount of money! At that price for four years is pretty darn good! Sure he had some injuries. But when he’s on he’s ON! Guy knows how to play the game! The younger generation can learn a thing or two! He has tons of experience! You can’t teach that! He’s been there and done it! He Has nothing to Proved & That’s it;)

Well we’d need the cap space for one. Two, Malkin would most definitely be an interesting short term stop gap if we do in fact trade Miller. And finally three, I wouldn’t exactly have him as a priority since we have bigger needs to address.

if we can’t afford to pay JT 9mil+ per season. I’ll take a first round pic for 2023 draft. Then add a defenseman a premium prospect in return like Foote! Trade JT to New Jersey or something… Malkin At 6 mil for four years aint all that bad! Considering we signed Louis Erickson at 6 mil for 6 years! Same goes with Tyler Myers! Malkin is a far better then those two players combined when healthy! Malkin can mentor aswell play with Podz and Kuzemenko! I think he would fit in perfectly! he does have 3 cups under his stacked resume!

From our management’s comments about expecting the younger key core guys to take on more leadership responsibilities it sounds like we won’t be bringing in anyone like Malkin, who would have a big presence in the room.

Pretty sad Alf. Considering Malkin winning 3 Cups would be a huge presence in the locker room for the inexperienced younger generation players. What better guy to get that leadership skills…..

  6. Heard Malkin is being forced out of Pittsburgh… rumours says he might end up in Washington of all places lolol. If we decide to trade Miller cause if we can’t afford to pay him 9mil per season. I’ll take a first round pic for 2023 draft pick. Then add a stellar defenseman a premium prospect in return like Foote! Trade JT to New Jersey or something… Malkin At 6 mil for four years aint all that bad! Considering we signed Louis Erickson at 6 mil for 6 years! Same goes with Tyler Myers! Malkin is a far better then those two players! Malkin can mentor aswell play with Podz and Kuzemenko! Thoughts.

Considering how awful this year’s draft looks, next year’s has to be way better.

Next years draft is the big one! Top ten gonna be so good! If we land top 3 that’s just money in the bank! Team gets a lot better period!

Don't diss my boy Pearson.  He's a way better contract than most on our team.  He's better than Garland currently for what he provides even though Garland has higher potential if he could find chemistry with anyone on our team.  But Pearson is a straight chemistry bot because his vision is definitely top 3-5 on the team only behind Miller and Pettersson.  It feels like you put him with anyone on our team and they start producing way more than they usually do.  However, I am in the resign Miller and Boeser camp (especially Boeser).  Yah he had a down year, but you never get rid of a guy on a down year.  You sign Boeser to a reasonable extension and he rebounds to his Covid season form and he's in the conversation for one of the best contracts in the NHL.  Miller is a different scenario because signing guys after a career year becomes a disaster so often.  I'd have hope for Miller cause he has consistently for 3 years shown to us that he has this very high level and the only reason his production got capped his first two years was because of the shortened seasons.  He also has a style that usually lasts into your mid 30s.  He generates most of his offence by being in the offensive zone.  The first thing that goes with aging NHLers is skating ability.  Skating ability really hinders generating on the rush, but if you're established in the zone it is not as big a deal.

Also, are we now at the point where we have more posts in threads centered around Miller than any other player in CDC history now?  Or is that still Virtanen?

Pearson good but we need other players to sign aswell. We need more cap space plain and simple.

By the time Petey, Hughes, Podz, etc are ready to compete for the Cup, Miller will be on the decline and expensive. Would be nice to bring in a real good UFA for a Cup run, but if they have Miller making $8 million or whatever, they'll be strapped for cash and won't be able to do that.

It has to be about the future and I think the Canucks want to get good, young players in return. Those guys are cheaper and can develop with the young core. Miller could bring in a RD for Quinn.

That’s why we keep JT til a month or two before the deadline, then trade him to a team trying to contend for playoffs. Try to get 1st rd pick in 2023 draft year! plus a top end prospect. So we’re not stuck with a salary cap deficiency. I love JT I know we can’t afford him. But let’s not give him away especially for a 2022 first round pick! This years draft is so weak! I’d want nothing to do with this years draft. 2023 draft year is what this team needs to be looking towards! We need to get rid of Myers, Poolman, Dickinson and Pearson to open up much needed cap space! Be nice to find new home for OEL but that ones going to be super difficult.

So you're not going to answer a single question about the subject at hand, hockey. Then drop an insult trying to question someone else opinions that are far more educated. All while ending your brilliance by speaking like a 11 year old boy on fortnite?

Least you got your first line right.

Try reading how bout. I answered your question through other feeds. I’m done talking to someone who doesn’t understand. You must love guys like Myers, Poolman, Dickinson, Pearson and OEL players who give us cap crunch! How bout get rid of those plugs before trying to offload key players like Miller and Boeser.

  11. How bout we get rid of these dead weight plugs before anyone else! Starting with the biggest plug! Myers, Poolman, Dickinson and Pearson! Get rid of those guys before anyone else! Kinda stuck with OEL. Atleast try to get rid of those guys before making stupid decisions with Boeser and Miller!

    What...? Let's go through this.

Who said they are giving them away for free?

Who's saying this is a "weak ass draft"? If anything all I ever hear about is how it's far better then last year's draft.

Why don't we keep these two guys? Because there is something called a salary cap.

Would you still vote we offload Miller at the deadline if we are fighting for a playoff spot?

Who says we aren't looking for futures, nothing reported said we are specifically looking for this draft? That's purely speculation.

Again, who said we are giving then up for nothing, we rejected a pretty decent trade last deadline because they wanted more. Clearly they are waiting for someone to pony up big.

Can you name 2 other players in the 2023 draft besides Bedard without googling it? Yes it's supposed to be a strong draft, but lots can change in a year. We already know that the 2022 draft is shaping up to be the better draft for defensemen and centers. Wonder what the Canucks 2 biggest needs are in our prospect system... Huh.

    My gawd indeed.

Some mothers children I tell yah! You don’t have a clue bout hockey do yah lolol

Well boeser needs a contract, so.......

What if they keep Miller, he gets hurt before the tdl and they can't move him and he leaves for nothing?

No one is trading miller for a draft pick, not on its own

I get it! But why keep plugs like Myers, Dickinson, Poolman and Pearson?! Get rid of those guys first before anyone else! Keep JT till deadline get a First in 2023 draft year and acquire a young prospect that won’t brake bank! OEL kinda messed up our cap situation. Miller’s a beast he ain’t soft pooh like the guys I mentioned too offload.

  14. Why trade miller for another player we can’t afford?! Makes zero sense! JT is a major asset to any team! The guy plays with heart any team would love to have this guy in their locker room! I’d love to keep JT personally. And why trade for any draft picks in the 2022 weak ass draft year?! Why not try to add a valuable prospect that ain’t going to brake bank for us?! How bout we try to get a 1st rd pick, in the strong draft year of 2023! Everyone going nuts over Bedard and Michkov! 2023 going to be stacked with players! I just don’t get some people in these feeds! Lolol in all honesty we have to get rid of players like Myers, Dickinsons, Pearson and Poolman those are dead weights! In all honesty those contacts need to be dealt with! Get rid of them! That opens up cap which Canucks desperately needs! Why keep those guys that makes no Sense!

  15. Why the heck we trying to give Miller and Boeser away for free? Who wants any players from this years weak ass draft?! Why don’t we keep these two guys? Offload them towards this years trade deadline?! I’d rather get 1st round picks for 2023 draft then 2022! I know we can’t afford JT but why give them up for nothing! We gave up our 1st for JT we can do the same for 2023 1st rd draft pick! 2023 is the draft year everyones drooling over! My Gawd! Lolol

I don't think it matters if a team reaches out first when a player is entitled to talk to all 32 teams.  That's like saying Arizona spoke to him first, who cares? End of the day, it's the player's decision.

Fans have no voice when it comes to negotiating a contract.  If we did, Miller would be signed by now.

Lmao off course fans don’t... lolol that’s what management is for haha
