My logic was "well, if an action happens but the target is protected, the action still happened" whereas the roleblocker would stop the action before it even started.
But i have already speculated far too much on fluff, so I think you're right.

Before you said you were the vig (and revealed that you targetted the person who was lynched), the scum role-blocker would a) notice that there wasn't a vig kill and b) notice that they targeted someone the same night as this lack of vig kill.
They might then put 2 and 2 together and role-block this target, thinking they were keeping the Vig from killing someone out of the PoE on your orders.

Unvoting not allowed apparently? Also yeah, the medic is a bit OP in this setup, that's meant to be countered by the fact that anyone can bluff anyone into believing they have it.
