Pretty sure that if there is a concert with speakers and such and biiiig fat power cables everywhere that they will not be sitting on ice/water.

I'm no sparky spark expert so I don't know

    P.s.

The only concert i remember seeing the floor at gm place was Metallica :metal:

They were on a stage on top of the pavement... i think it was December/ hockey season 2008!

I was at the Foo Fighters concert in September 2018 and the ice was covered with insulated flooring. Could see the ice as one of the floor boards was broken on the corner.

Don't forget the Diaz trade to NYR for their 5th which we used to draft Gaudette. The Hansen and Burrows trades looked like huge wins at the time of the deals and at worst we moved two potential expansion pieces for assets that could be protected (and we got Burrows an extension which ended up as a nice little retirement gift). We also got picks for Eddie Lack who became a dud real quick after the trade (which would be equivalent to some of our "worst" trades).

I believe while we did trade away picks, we also acquired picks and in the end we drafted a full allotment of picks over Benning's tenure. We may have given up some high picks, but Benning has more than made up for them with his draft record in the later rounds to make up for it. Cashing in on later picks is just as good IMO considering the odds of the picks anyway.

McCann might be only real NHL player that could've helped us and I have my doubts on him really wanting to be here. Kassian was never going to be a player for us. All the other "worst" trades had very little effect on us in the end.

The Diaz trade was one of Gillis' last trades.

Nice point. Jake's slapper and wrister can overpower a tender. I have no problem with how Green has brought Jake along. Jake has the ability for a very solid 200' game. Can play on both sides of the puck. Has a physical presence both on the boards and thru hitting. Fans tend to forget that Benning drafted Jake after the disaster 2014 Calgary series. Vancouver didn't really have a response up front to Ferland. Benning drafted size and physicality with Virtanen. Many of us have preached patience with Jake and he is now begining to come into his own.  If he goes into a ppg drought be patient. He will be hitting his prime in 3 years when the Canucks will be a serious CUP contender.

Actually Jake was drafted at #6 the year before the Calargy series. We selected Boeser at #23 after making the playoffs in 2015.

no Sautner was sent back down and OF is off the IR as of yesterday i think. The d group has been playing so well I don't see him getting in until there's an injury or someone really needs a maintenance day.

I see. Just have seen photos of him in Sweden and UK the last week.

  5. The Calgary Flames and restricted free-agent forward Matthew Tkachuk are closing in on a three-year deal worth an average annual value of $7 million, according to TSN's Bob McKenzie.

Tkachuk will be a restricted free agent when the deal expires.

The 21-year-old will make $9 million in the third season of the contract, according to TSN's Darren Dreger. He'd receive a qualifying offer of at least that amount for a potential fourth year, should the sides fail to agree to a new deal before that time.
