  1. a COUPLE years ago . . . last time I remember going there I was an avid 5 year old hockey player, so 16 years ago!!!

was it really open recently? i cant believe i missed it!

I was on it today, it's pretty fun. There were a few groups of people skating and playing hockey.

  2. Stupid Weather Network. Yesterday, they said there would be atleast 30-40 cm of snow by Monday.

Now they've changed their mind, and we barely get any snow <_<

That's why you don't rely on the weather network. They're so bad and unreliable and always change their forecasts because they're just not accurate. Go to Environment Canada's page:

    http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/city/pages/bc-74_metric_e.html

Memorize it, bookmark it, do what you gotta do. Looks pretty white in that forecast.

  3. i didn't know it was ever cold enough to skate on ponds

where do you go usually? i'd love to skate outdoors!

There's usually about one stretch per winter where you can skate on the ponds for a couple days. I go to the Serpentine Fen it's on King George Highway at about 44th in South Surrey. A couple of years ago a private company had mini rinks set up with nets and skate rentals and everything, it was pretty awesome.

  4. Our first snowfall is on the way for the weekend.

    About time.

On a side note, anyone know if the local ponds are suitable for skating on yet? It's been about 5 days below freezing in a row, would be nice to get some shinny in before the snow.

  5. As much as I like snow and want that outlook to be true. Watch tomorrow morning it be altered to include warmer weather and rain. The accuracy of forecasts over 3 days in advance drop off significantly.

  6. Back to the Vancouverites whining again. Grow a pair.

I don't think many of us are whining. Last year we had pretty much a 'real winter' and alot of people learned their lesson and went out and got snowtires. I for one look forward to snow.

  7. If you don't like it, then ignore me. Is it such a crime to miss the weather from home (which is so drastically different from what I see here)? You don't have to be a wipe about it. If you don't like it, then go ahead and sod off. There's no need to mark your e-superiority by openly trolling and bashing whoever you feel like bashing. In addition to that... who exactly are you?

And didn't you notice that most of my posts are at Rainbow Noise? What do you expect from that place? Seriousness? I've avoided Off-Topic a lot more quite recently and spent more time in Rainbow Noise for that very reason. Besides, what else do you want me to talk about? Hockey? Because I'd end up defaulting to Ducks talk, and that never goes anywhere (since half the people here seem to think the Ducks are goons without knowing anything else about the team)... and this is a CANUCKS forum, which adds to that apathy. So, if you don't like it, again -- sod off and ignore me instead of acting like the wise all-knowing forum guru who polices everyone's actions, because those are called mods.

And for those who know me, I don't tell people to sod off very often, so when you hear that from me, you would know that I really mean it.

As for Sbisa, that caught me off guard. But this is Off-Topic... let's not derail this thread.

Settle down, I was just joking which was fairly clearly denoted by the :P. As for who exactly I am.. Who is anyone? This is an internet forum. I'm not e-famous enough for people to know me I guess. I apologize if I upset you, it wasn't my intention at all BH. I just made those numbers up anyways. From what I've seen you've made some really fine contributions to the photography thread which I stop in at every once in awhile.

We're not even off-topic here as my post was responded to with the loudest thunder since the days of Zeus! ;)

  8. ^^

80% of your posts are about what you did/what the weather is like in Seoul today (which no one responds to) :P

15% of your posts are some immature joke with sexual connotations

Let's try and expand that final 5%.. how do you feel about Sbisa being sent back to Lethbridge?

  9. Its raining in Riga as well, I like the rain more than the snow.

Generally people like what they don't have as often. For us in Vancouver, it rains 200 days a year so lots of people are sick of it, while it snows maybe 10 days a year except for last year. In Riga, it might snow more often I'm not sure. I'm not a rain hater though I find it comforting. My family just got a metal roof this spring and it magnifies the sounds of the individual rain drops.
