I was trying to watch some womens tennis last night but had to turn it off. It looked like a pretty good match going on but the grunting really turned me off. It was too much of a distraction and quite annoying. Bad porn stars don't sound that awful.
It's too bad because the match was really quite interesting (Serena vs a young girl from Belarus).
They were actually talking about that during the match. They were wondering if Azarenka(the Belarus girl) should be allowed to have such loud and long grunts because it may distract the other player. Personally, I don't think they is much they can do about that, unless they can prove she is being malicious and trying to distract the other player. Which would be difficult to prove, IMO.

"Last night I saw you in my dreams....now I can't wait to go to sleepLast night I saw you in my dreams....now I can't wait to go to sleep
My ma ma ma ma mama
I wanna scream so loud for you
Cuz I'm so proud of you
And a let me tell you what I am about to do
mama
You know I act a fool but
I promise you Im going back to school and
I appreciated what you allowed for me and uh
I was 3 years old, when you and I moved to the Chi
Late December, harsh winter gave me a cold
You fixed me up somethin' that was good for my soul
Famous homemade chicken soup, can I have another bowl?
You work late nights just to keep on the lights
Mommy got me training wheels so I could keep on my bike
And you would give me anything in this world
Michael Jackson leather and a glove, but didn't give me a curl
And you never put no man over me
And I love you for that Mommy can't you see?
7 years old, I caught you with tears in your eyes
Cause somebody cheatin' tellin' you lies then I started to cry
As we knelt on the kitchen floor
I said Mommy I'm a love you so you don't hurt no more
And when I'm older, you ain't gotta work no more
And I'm a get you that mansion that we couldn't afford
See you're unbreakable unmistakable
Highly capable, lady that's makin' loot
A livin' legend too, just look at what heaven do
Send us an angel, and I thank you.
mama
I wanna scream so loud for you
Cuz Im so proud of you and uh
let me tell you what Im about to do
mama
you know I love you so and
Ill never let you go
I wrote this song just so you know
no matter when you go....
Last night I saw you in my dreams....now I can't wait to go to sleep
Last night I saw you in my dreams....now I can't wait to go to sleep
And this life....is all a dream
So my real life starts when I go to sleep
This life...this here...this Grammys....all of this is all a dream
And my real life will start when I go to sleep
My ma ma ma ma mama"
Dedicated to my mama, who passed away 2 years ago today. I love you so much and miss you so much more. *tears*

Alright then, I'll be a little more careful, but I would not advise looking up tennis forums if you don't want spoilers.
Yah, no worries. If I am really looking forward to a match, Ill steer clear of this thread.

I don't get it. Where do you live? The match was over for a while, and they had already gone into the Nadal match.
Nanaimo. They are taped replays that I watch because the matches go late into the night here. TSN2 usually replays them. Nadal just closed out his match against Kohlschreiber.

Hahaha, anyone who thought Clijsters was going to go far is probably in a hole right now. Just kidding, I loved her comeback, but I guess taking care of a baby has its toll. 6-0 6-1 is the worst match of her career. I just hope she can really bounce back from this because she's brought back a lot of excitement to women's tennis.
[inserts foot into mouth]
I am just watching it now, and shes already lost a break 2 games in. Can't believe she only wins one game the entire match.

Del Potro and Blake was an epic battle. These are just two guys with heavy flat forehands who blast down and not over the net. I'm really looking forward to seeing epic stuff like this.
Inconsistent tennis would definitely be Henin and Serena Williams. Clijsters used to be a really bad choker before she won her first US. She would rip through tournaments and come short in the semis, where she'd get destroyed. Serena Williams is really interesting to watch because she gets really whiny throughout the game, and she wins in straight sets, so...
I have seen a huge change in Clijsters game since she made her comback. She seems a lot more calm in high pressure situations. I guess having a kid will do that. Watch all the women in tennis start getting knocked up. If Sharapova needs a sperm donor, I'm game!
And thanks for not saying who wins the Del Potro vs Blake match, I am watching in awe right now.

She still has what it takes. She made a lot of unforced errors yesterday, but that wasn't even what really hurt her. She played fairly well but she didn't deal with the pressure very well which is very odd for her. She had plenty of chances to win, but she lost all the big points
That pretty much describes all of women's tennis, just really inconsistent
I think Clijsters has something to say about that.

Still snowing like a mofo here in Nanaimo! Probably getting close to a foot now. Already had a crazy snowball fight! :D
Just outside my front door.

Though you make some points I do agree with, your pissing all over the memories of people that gave their lives believing what they were doing was right.
Why do you have to disrespect that.
I agree. Shut up already, Steamer. This thread is to honor our soldiers(fathers, grandfathers etc) who fought and died. Not question/debate the motives behind war.

Great thread...Ive been waiting until the 11th to post in here.
My girlfriend and I watched Saving Private Ryan on History the other night, and we found it tough to watch at times. To know that soldiers went through that is just awful. No wonder a lot of them were messed up coming back. It then made us think about our grandfathers who both fought in WWII, mine being in the Mediteranean on a Navy ship and hers as a navigator in the Air Force. My grandmother was in Scotland when the Nazi's raided her town and a bomb dropped from a plane actually hit the building she was in....but it did not detonate. Had it detonated, me, my dad and all my uncles and aunty's wouldnt be here today. I sure hope that me and my children never have to experience something like that.
I will never forget.
