The rumors on twitter are saying that there may be a deal in place with the Penguins for Kesler. Also, TB is interested in Edler.
-
Or it was about Kesler and his injury has affected the trade. Not saying that Pratt was right but who knows what's going on.

Well Lu has an 'escape clause' coming up: http://www.faceoff.com/story.html?id=a49d5565-3e9e-4c39-ac85-6c328be5e1d1 If he wants out I'm not sure the Canucks have to get value back. I too believe he will be traded this year or next and my money is on Florida now that they are a cap team.

You're probably right but they have good centre prospects, Zib and Lazar to name a couple. Ottawa's D is horrible and have the 3rd worst goals against in the league despite having 2 good goaltenders. Edler and Karlsson playing together for the next decade had to be somewhat enticing, especially considering Edler has such a good contract.
-
I agree. Jensen gas been lighting it up in the AHL and he's doing it without a good centremen. IMO Canucks should go after Turris. Edler and a 2nd for Turris Ottawa has a some really good young centers and their D are one of their biggest weaknesses. Edler and Karlsson have shown good chemistry in the Olympics being Sweden's top pair.

While I do agree I think Florida now being able to spend to the cap changes things. Markstrom isn't close to ready or the goalie they thought and Florida is looking for help in that position. I don't think the Canucks are gonna get much back but if they want to rid themselves of the contract I'm betting Florida would now be interested.

Kesler and Edler For B Schenn, Simmonds and Laughton
-
@DimFilipovic: Raphael Diaz was 4th in points/60 at 5v4 amongst all defensemen last season, btw. http://t.co/dFnI6giegf

I'm guessing you don't watch many Canuck games. Weise is arguably the worst Canuck in his own end. His giveaways are horrible and he doesn't think the game at a very high level. He was on the verge of being sent to the minors. There's a reason Torts benches him so much.
-
Brutal post. Some Canuck fans are horrible. Good trade for Gillis and the Canucks. Weise hasn't been very good and the Canucks have a lot of available 4th liners. If way rather Archibald in the lineup than Dale 'punching bag' Weise.

I disagree. Aside from the Ballard trade, I liked most of MG's trades. Kassian is getting better and better and will be the better player, Ehrhoff, Higgins, Lappy, Pahlsson and Roy were considered decent at the time. No he hasn't trade raped anyone but that doesn't happen too often. His college and UFA signing have been good as well. -

I do agree with a lot of your points but: -Higgins should be added to your list. The guys is relentless and is one of the hardest workers. Very cap friendly. -Kesler needs to go but only in a package if an elite young prospect is coming back. IMO his skills are diminishing and his ego can sometimes be bigger than the team. -I agree the Sedins are not leaders and they struggle vs top dmen. If there was any chance of a trade and getting elite prospects back than MG should do it but they are very skilled players and are valuable to the Canucks. Ideally the'd be the best 2nd line in the league dominating others team secondary defense. Unfortunately they are not very cap friendly anymore. -Lu is gone. He's going to demand a trade and Florida will likely be the destination with the new owner saying the Panthers will be a cap team and their need for a goaltender. Canucks will probably get a mid prospect back. -
I'd keep Horvat, but the rest the Jets can have for Kane. Kane is a rare power forward stud. A lot of posters talk about his immaturity but the kid is only 22. How many of us were mature 100% of the time at that age. Look how Parick Kane has matured and he's only 25. Yes please to Evander Kane. Hansen, Gaunce, Shroeder and a 1st
-
I'd do that trade for Kane. Kane is a rare stud. IMO Horvat is going to be a better player than Hunter. Though, Nash didn't get that much. Edler > Dubinsky Hansen = Anisimov Hunter > Erixon 1st = 1st And Rangers got a 3rd I like Kane, but he's not Nash. Kane has a better contract right now but Nash is still in his 20's and his contract won't be bad in the coming year as the cap rises.
