Except Edler is younger and dmen get better with age. He played really well for Sweden, MAGICALLY. He lost a good thing when Ehrhoff left, now he is no longer pp qb, no longer physical, etc and probably isn't best buds with Torts. He is going to be a stud on whatever team gets him just watch.

Horvat is the guy to step in for Kesler. We are going to get some rental garbage if we are looking for 2nd line impact center for next year, they would not give that up for Kesler!

Draft picks+really young prospects (i.e. Bo Horvat age group). If we get talent like what Pits is giving us/young impact NHL players that have a lot of NHL exp, their ceiling is already capped at 3rd line. Think about it, why would a team trade away a guy that is putting up second line points for an older guy doing the same? We gain some value just because they are "proven" but give up a lot of value in potential of these players.

Edler is mismanaged, he is not garbage.

Gillis traded Hodgson, its not like he doesn't have it in him. At this point, I this as becoming too big a mess if we hold on to Kes and also Luongo in the future. I see Luongo more easily moved now with the emergence of Lack and the cap going up.

I think that would be the best case scenario. Probably works too Edler to Pits-They probably want some insurance b/c of Letang Kesler to Philly.

My guess is that Kes and maybe Edler go to Philly. They seem like they would want Kes the most after the departure of Carter/Richards. Can already see him as a flyer. Pits may want him, but I just don't see them giving up enough in the end.

Why? we NEED to trade him if we are gonna rebuild and open room for Horvat. Best to avoid the Hodgson drama all over again. The second line has been a problem for us for a few yrs now. We needed to sign wingers for Kesler and have failed many times. This is a better route.
