Ignorance is bliss. Unless you're a Republican. Then ignorance is just stupid.

A new kitten in the family managed to cause a chain reaction that resulted in my wall being damaged.
That's why I prefer dogs. Instead of destroying your property, they'd just try to bite your head off instead.

crabby as in having crabs?
Sure, if the seafood lovers seem to be happy.
-
I think the slush is making everyone crabby.

Came across as a tad too flaky.
Now now now, let's not act so cold.

damn you snow
go back to the mountains, where you belong
Snow was here before the Europeans. Technically, this land should belong to them.
Racist.

On Twitter, it'd be interesting if the rest of Canada decided to be sarcastic and start a #prayforvancouver hashtag.

4-car couplings and uncouplings along the Canada Line right now, in an effort to resolve this problem with the weird wet white stuff.

Canada Line service has been restored between Bridgeport and YVR Airport stations.
-
Passengers are now off the Canada Line train stranded on Sea Island. Looks like it made some progress from YVR Airport but is now still stuck somewhere around Sea Island Center and Templeton stations.
-
Another Canada Line train stuck, this time on the bridge between Bridgeport and Sea Island. That's why no trains are operating to the airport right now.
Edit: Correction -- not on the bridge, but at YVR Airport station?
-
Canada Line trains running between Marine Drive and Bridgeport, but not between Bridgeport and YVR Airport.
-
Canada Line was apparently just timed out. It has been rescued now.
-
Canada Line service currently turning back at Marine Drive and Bridgeport.

....how??? The trains have been running all day and it only just started snowing an hour or two ago.
....... it's the Canada Line.

JUST CONFIRMED:
Canada Line train stuck on north arm Fraser River bridge due to snow. Canada Line setting up shuttle trains between Bridgeport and Richmond and YVR Airport.
-
I've been getting some unconfirmed reports on Twitter that there's a Canada Line train stuck on the middle north arm bridge due to snow.
Edit: Corrected.

Came down hard in Surrey within the last hour

Unrelated, but congrats on getting your tweet RT'd by Lupul the other day!
Kinda surprised that Lupul RT'd it, but no big deal. Just doing my usual trash-talking of the other California teams.

Hell I guess a few blocks away makes a huge difference in snow flake size huh LOL. I'm right across Hugh Boyd on No.1.
Hey, you're pretty close to me.
I'm close enough to see Seafair mall.
-
Some? I don't know where you are but in my area (west richmond), they're massive
In my area of west Richmond, they're not massive (the opposite, actually) but they're definitely numerous.
-
Flakes are now falling in west Richmond.

On the SkyTrain heading back, I looked north and the top half of the mountains were a blurry white mess. Looks like the heavy snow is at our doorstep now.

Metro Vancouver
3:48 PM PST Monday 10 January 2011
Snowfall warning for
Metro Vancouver issued
Significant snowfall expected for the south coast for Tuesday night.
This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.
A frontal system developing west of Vancouver Island is forecast to track towards the South Coast of British Columbia on Tuesday. In combination with cold air filtering down to the coast from the interior, a significant snowfall is expected for Tuesday night.
Light snow is expected to fall ahead of the system over Vancouver Island late in the day on Tuesday and then spread to the mainland coast by Tuesday evening. As the system nears, heavier snow is likely late Tuesday evening and overnight into Wednesday morning.
Snowfall accumulations of 10 to 20 cm are expected by early Wednesday morning. The snow is expected to change to rain on Wednesday morning as the system brings in milder air over the south coast.

Had a spat with my sister, who is telling me that getting a Masters of Fine Arts degree is useless (even for teaching university or college) and that for any kind of future, I have to have a science degree.
She claimed that I should get a computer science degree because it is better in the long run and it'll give me a future, since I "don't have one" right now with my lone bachelors of arts degree. When I said that my best friend has a comp-sci degree and can't seem to find much work out there anyhow, she told me not to argue with her because she knows "many" people with comp-sci degrees and that it's THE field to work in in the long term.
Yeah, figure that one out.
All the while, she's encouraging me to do that even though I'm all thumbs when it comes to computer programming (multimedia is my better field, by far) and suck at most things science-related.
Not to mention a lot of UBC's Masters of Fine Arts degrees are pretty hands-on and require you to take courses that prepare you to use your degree in certain employment fields...
Argh. Just so fed up with her and her "helpful" advice sometimes. I wonder if she even looks at what she says and gauges how "helpful" she's being.
