  1. Ya, it's the whole "me first" mentality. It's like they think the train will leave without them if they don't wait 5 seconds for the people to get off the train first...
  2. really? "magic" doesn't come through as tongue-in-cheek on the internet? Or is my sarcasm detector broken?
  3. tongue-in-cheek doesn't register with you eh?
  4. Things are still open, but there's no way to get around. All public transport stops around 12:30-1.
  5. AWD only helps with moving. Stopping is another story altogether. I hate the AWD idiots who don't remember this fact and go around rear-ending everyone.
  6. But it's dam cold either way. Any precipitation is going to be snow. Ah, wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seoul So I guess not too much, but still more than Vancouver/OC
  7. I was in Ilsan (over by Daehwa) and it snowed a lot when I was there. But I don't know if that was abnormal or not because I was younger and didn't really pay attention.
  8. From what I remember about my 1 trip to korea in the winter is that it snows a lot there.
  9. Actually, I'm still waiting for you to respond to my actual points without making a different point instead. edit: BTW, thanks for reminding me of something to write into the e-thug thread.
  10. You remind me of this guy. Anyway, not to derail this topic, I saw this show on the History channel last night. It was called Vimy Underground and it showed a holding tunnel for some of the troops before attacking Vimy Ridge. They showed some of the carvings and markings made on the walls. Some of them are amazing and they sort of gave me a greater human connection with the soldiers. One of the carvings:
  11. ..... dead people don't contribute to the economy... well... other than caskets and cemetery plots.
  12. Which is exactly what I meant by intellectual inertia.
  13. More single-vehicle accidents, which is what the median is supposed to stop. It doesn't mention that there is an overall increase in the number of crashes, just single-vehicle crashes. I'm sure there is a sharp reduction of multi-vehicle accidents.
  14. Oh come on Inane. You're better than that. From the same article a couple lines down. "It's never been the highway's fault for accidents; it's been 99-per-cent driver error," Ritchie said. "We'll still see accidents for sure, because the nature of the beast is people speed, and speed brings more drastic results." What the highway does is minimize the damage these idiots do. Head on collision > single-vehicle accidents (for overall damage and death)
  15. There really isn't anything to elaborate. If you know what intellectual inertia is, you'll understand what it means. It goes for both parties.
  16. intellectual inertia is a b*tch ain't it?
  17. Good for you. I would visit the war memorial too if you get a chance today. Just seems like the right thing to do to me.
  18. True, but it was still faster to transfer @ CC if the buses matched up.
  19. Ya, I've never understood the people who take the 97 to get from CC to skytrain. Almost seems like false advertising.
  20. Ya, when the 97 first came in I was excited because I thought it would get me from Coquitlam Centre to Lougheed faster, then I found out the route it takes. The 151 and 152 are both faster than the B-line, it's a joke of a bus.
  21. Hm... so they basically want to re-privatize translink and BC ferries and create more high paying overseeing jobs. Is it just me or does paying people to make sure your pay is not overly excessive sound stupid to anyone else?
  22. I don't think there's anything called a B-line standard. The 98 B-line sucks donkey.
  23. Your kid catches on quick. edit: thanks harbinger
