  1. Exactly this. Some guys just don't get it lol. What's the logic behind a black hole being kicked out of it's home galaxy at several million miles per hour? It can't be explained? Oh, it's not real.

I've read enough of your posts that I don't take you seriously, at all. But, for fun ...

If we allow for the idea that "God is not about logic", then you cannot dismiss any equally illogical ideas. So, if I believe there's an all-powerful flying spaghetti monster in space, who are you to deny it's existence if I claim "no no, it's beyond logic."

  2. Yes, as you're using a formal fallacy as an argument.

That's cute, but go back and re-read the quote (of yours) that I was replying to. Your "logical" conclusion is "He" is not human, which you take to be proven. But it's your own argument that's flawed, because there are other, more logical options (besides magic beings, let's get serious for a moment), such as ... it's a figurative story not meant to be taken literally.

I hope you realize that I intentionally used a logical fallacy as a rhetorical strategy to point out your own logical fallacy (I don't think you got that, or else you wouldn't have replied the way you did, but I'll give you a small benefit of the doubt). It's called tongue-in-cheek.

  3. So in your mind there is no probablity that the theory of evolution has any flaws in it ? Science expands our knowledge every day and many theories fall to the wayside. Even Darwin's theory could be cast down in 10, 20 or even a hundred years.

I think I've read enough BS in this thread to start calling certain people out on it.

So, for starters, it's easy to sit back and say "weeeeeell, we can't really ever know anything for sure, right guys? I mean, there's always some room for doubt and nothing's perfect ..." But what exactly is your point, especially as it relates to evolution? If evolution has weaknesses, please enlighten me as to what they are. My strong suspicion is that YOU do not fully understand it, and therefore perceive your own gaps in knowledge as weaknesses in evolution (rather than what they are, weaknesses in your own understanding).

Again, let me ask you this clearly: what are the weaknesses in the theory of evolution? You said "many of Darwin's theories have been squashed" but would you care to back up that statement? An example, maybe?

You refer to adaptive mutation as though it's something separate from evolution or natural selection ("The theory of Adaptive Mutation seems to hold more water than evolution in the scientific community these days" - also of note, no proof to back up this statement), which also makes me think that you're talking to a subject about which you are unfamiliar. Of course genetic mutations are part of evolution and natural selection, and they're certainly not concepts that are in opposition to one another. You're simply talking out of your ass.

Evolution is extremely well understood and documented. Maybe not by you, though.

  4. So you know the machine for plated weight incline bench? I literally hadn't done this in over a year and I'm no better at it now than I was then. But my incline and my strength in general has improved. Is that a cause for concern or is it just because the motion and how you work your muscles with a regular incline bar or dumbbells is obviously different to that of the machine which I never use hence no improvement.

I wouldn't say "cause for concern" but probably, as you said yourself, the result of not using that muscle group.

  5. Let that selfish bum walk. He hasn't even played ONE full season and hes full of demands??? He would be a nobody if it wasn't for the Vancouver Canucks.

Bieksa, burrows, the Sedins, and more, all Care for this club, this team, they aren't out to squeeze every last penny out of the TEAM.

I'm serious too, I think Tanev has great potential, but like one poster said, thats all it is, potential, at this point. I appreciate players who have the team at heart, not the bank account.

You seem really angry. I think maybe some things in your own personal life have influenced your frustration. Where do you get that he's "full of demands", or are making gross assumptions?

It's mid-August for goodness sake. Plenty of time to work something out, sheesh.

  6. Because we "missed out" on....who exactly?

I agree in a way, we obviously weren't re-hiring AV, so really that means Ruff is the only one we "lost out on", and he wasn't really considered to be in the running either, according to most people.

But I am still concerned about this situation because it is starting to appear as though there isn't a great candidate waiting in the wings. All things being equal, I wish we still had AV. Change for the sake of change isn't a good plan, especially if it becomes a downgrade.

  7. Things that I've figured out in my adventures with the game:

    1. Smithing. It's an easy skill to get to 100, just make iron daggers (1 iron, 1 Leather Strip), and all stores restock whenever you fast travel.

    2. Followers: Once you get to the portion of the story where Esbern joins you STOP. Advance no farther in the main quest, do a little dungeoning. Esbern is a free follower that can't die. While in Riften go to the Bee and The Barb and pay Marcurio 500 gold to join you.

    3. Enchanting: I can't stress this enough, most useful skill if you pick the perks correctly. I have an Ebony Greatsword at 890 damage. To train your enchanting enchant all the iron daggers you made smithing.

    4. Alchemy: Get the following ingredients: Deathbells, Swamp Fungal Pods, Cannis Root, River Betty's, Abecean Longfins, Spadetails, and look through barrels for salt piles. Make potions of Slow, Paralysis, and Restoration and sell for a profit and to increase your Speech.

    5. If you joined the Dark Brotherhood, get the bonuses, that is all.

    Also:

Read this and need more info. A greatsword at 890 damage?! Can you be more specific as to how that's possible? I thought I was doing well with my 111 Daedric sword!

  8. I got a bug that's really messing with me, I can't use any crafting stations (or similar things, like lumber mills and stuff). The game seems to think I'm in combat when I'm totally not, also it doesn't go away even after numerous re-loads/area transitions/sleeps/waits, or after being in combat then not for a while, then combat again and so forth. I'm playing on PS3 so I can't do console commands. My last savegame without this going on is SOOOO far back from where I am now.

Oooh, PS3 version makes it tough for me to give you any kind of helpful advice. Pray for a patch. I know that on the PC I had to validate some cache files, or something like that, so that I could use the smithing stuff properly. Best of luck, it's such a great game that it's a real shame when things like this get in the way.
