You could sense from the 1st period they would lose. I’ve never seen a game where more players fell, or got knocked to the ice than this game. Even a linesman fell. But more Canucks than RWings
Nothing was going past their goalie nor the wall they put up around him.
Canucks D sucked big tonight.
Boeser had his worst game ever.
Petey not shooting when he should.
If not for Demko this would have need 7-0Gonna be hard not watching Vancouver throughout the playoffs. When Bruce came aboard I had a bit of hope.

That’s how to play guys I love when they can chase a goalie out and still score on the replacement. It was a game of good puck control and real decent passing.
One thing I noticed is they win a lot of games when Petey is not playing. Sorry to say.- 1

Canucks actually played well after Demko let in those first two. Problem is the lack of quality shots on net. Good on Miller, but they seem to just shoot straight at the goalie too much.
Another thing tonight was too much time getting hemmed in on the boards around Demko.
I saw Bo make one good play all game and Boeser be way too soft.

We should get 8 points when we beat the Leafs. Just for having to suffer through their fans, commentators and Matthews' greasy stache.
Haha. Yeah the stash that looks like a 70’s porn star.
To be fair, the announcers were pretty good tonight and not all Leaf biased.- 1

Canucks would be so much better if they did not struggle so much trying to clear the puck out of their zone. I hate when they get hemmed in for minutes at a time.
Thought Demko was going to keel over a few times.- 2

Demko deserves more eastern media praise
He got it from the announcers tonight. For once they weren’t Leaf biased.

Yeah they won. As they should have. Kinda rough to watch them trying to get out of their own zone over and over again.
Shorties most used word tonight was “intercepted”, next was “lost the puck”.What they need to work at is not getting hemmed in so much. Either clear it or toughen up and skate out. Work hard on that and the PP and this team wins more.

In an earlier post this afternoon I said if Halak lets in 2 goals he needs to be pulled.
If I can see that why can’t an experienced coach.
Yeah the whole team sucked tonight, but with Demko they have a better chance.
It just got worse after Meyers stupid giveaway.- 1

If he lets in 2 easy ones from the start, pull him right away. Don’t do the wait and see.

Time to head to cgypuck with some popcorn lol.
I bet they are blaming the refs on this one.
On Calgary FlamesTwitter I saw a few people blaming the refs.

Wow. For awhile in the first Flames we’re kinda taking it to the Canucks. I was thinking crap. Then the first PP sucked.
What a turn around!
•Keep the black.
•Toss the blue and green.
•Someone needs to go lights on on Tkachuk next time.
Be nice if this effort could be given in most games.
As much as I don’t like seeing players hurt, did we do better without Dickenson?Wish Demko would have got the shutout.
-
1st 10 seconds I thought it was going to be like that the whole game. Then they fell apart and it was like watching a clown show until the 3rd. Horvat was horrible, but did get a wee bit of redemption for the goal. Dickenson? C’mon man. Skate hold the puck. Gets a break and just muffs it.
Dickenson and Horvat can go as far as I’m concerned.

While Bo hasn't been good enough. Trading him would be a huge mistake.
Last season I didn’t mind him. Won lots of face offs and shot more. This season he’s useless and may play better for another team.

Special teams need to show up for Van.

Seeing Motte get dumped and Miller go after the guy while Bo just stood there... I know trading Miller for a haul is probably the right thing to do but man, he's our heart and soul leader.
Bo stands there all the time when someone is getting it. Or just skates away. Remember the huge hit on Hughes awhile ago in front of the net and Bo looked and skated away.

I'm pretty convinced we'll never win another game ever if we trade JT.
I hate when I read all the talk about trading JT. And Brock for that matter.
Lose Horvat and Dickenson -

Sucks to be a Leaf fan when your team comes up against the best goalie in the league
The Canucks management need to weed out the slow skaters though. The Leafs are a very fast
skating team and the Nucks...well, ...not so much.
It looked like Dickensen had lead skates.

So two interesting factoids on this game
This is the most goals the Islanders scored in a game this season
And 5 goals in one period isn't even the most the Islanders scored in one period in Rogers Arena
And not even a club record for how fast they scored the goals.
-
Bruce’s mistake starting Halak. I pull him after 3 even after 2.

we did couple of years ago, what changes now?
Worse passing than before. Less shooting, harder to break past the blue line( See Calgary game), not being able to set up properly. There’s a ton of reasons and I can’t figure out why no coach deals with it as a priority.

No, they didn't. We didn't win a cup for a whole slew of reasons but to state they weren't a contender is just nonsense.
Yeah 1 was having Luongo. 2 was a lot of bad reffing. I mean those are just my opinions. I’m old.

Imagine if the AVS went that route with a young, struggling MacKinnon...
This is Vancouver where there is a thing what I call Westcoast syndrome.

They were the best team in the league for a few years there with a trip to the finals. That's a contender. Unfortunately, since the Sedins peaked so late, the window wasn't open very long, but that was definitely a contending team.
The way I see it is the best team in the league wins a cup.
I understand what you’re saying though.
Teams finally figured out the Sedin cycle.

Something happened to him for sure. There was a time I thought he’d be one of the best players on the team.
Maybe he liked Green.
