I'm not so sure about that.
While a body weighs more than a fist, the fist is travelling much faster-
The focus point of the impact is smaller with a fist.
someone better with math than me could probably figure out how to use this site
https://www.gigacalculator.com/calculators/impact-force-calculator.php
The brain rapidly moving inside the skull, particularly when it moves enough to impact the skull, results in concussions. It isn't the impact of a fist against the outside of the skull that necessarily matters, it's how much that hit causes the brain to jolt inside its casing. This is why a sharp hit to the jaw (for example) is more dangerous than a hit directly to the skull (as far as concussions are concerned, anyway...). The energy exchange causes the head to move rapidly, and the brain 'catches up' and can tear, condense, etc. A slap can cause concussion.
A full on body check, particularly where the recipient isn't prepared, will turn anyone into a bobblehead.
Regardless, these young men don't need to be fighting. I'd be concerned about ye olde slippery slope, however.

Eating a 30 mph bodycheck is harder on the brain than being punched on the helmet.

Game will still blow. EA knows less about hockey than the average forum user.

And I let her be a person while you want to change her and stifle her persona.
How would you like to be nutered?
You two have to accept that the can is open.
Woman has free speech also.
If you disagree with her don’t follow her online. So hands up, do you two love Alex eyes as she does?
Is reading comprehension no longer taught in school..?
And yea, Alex Wennberg is an attractive guy. What was your point in asking, exactly?

That girl was harmless… Think about it for a while.
Boys have lured girls into almost everything for ages(some girls does it also)
Her way of doing it is to reclaim her part of the universe where she can be who she wants.
No one can say to her her feelings are bad.
If you can fix the small problem that guys want to have sex a lot we maybe can solve this situation.
The sexualisation of society is guys want to get laid.
So please don’t blame this girl for a guy issue.
So blame "guys" for this individual's behaviour? Agree or disagree with how she chooses to present herself to the world, her choices are her own.

"DeAngelo has a history of disciplinary issues. He was suspended twice during his junior career in the OHL, including for violating the league's policy covering "homophobic, racist, and sexist language" and abuse of officials. He also was suspended for three NHL games in 2017, while with the Arizona Coyotes, for physical abuse of officials.
and
DeAngelo, 25, was bought out of the last year of his contract by the New York Rangers earlier this month. They kicked him off their team after six games last season due to his disruptive behavior, which included a physical altercation with goaltender Alexandar Georgiev after a game.
I'm not a math expert, but that looks like more than "a one time mistake"
Did his father abuse referees too?

So... AGMs do more than collect TPS reports and wander around with a clipboard pretending to inventory? Never knew.

Didn't Canada recently add, or propose, some law that allows extreme intoxication to be considered by the court?
Anyway, nobody really suggested that entering NHL rehab meant not facing the justice system...

This apology is most likely to do with lawyers and his agent telling him what to do.
I’m sick of people not being accountable. Hockey players are role models for children. He should never be reinstated for what he did.
People who fart in elevators should be forced to take the stairs for all eternity.

Both are deserving, but Fleury should have been honoured first.

@Maninthebox, care to weigh in as to why you disagree with lifetime bans for group sexual assault instead of just bagging me and not contributing anything?
You have something against paper bags?

Haven't watched in years. I'd prefer to listen to the actual.game, not some dude describing what I can see, another dude rambling about nonsense, and some woman squeaking now and then.
Can't even get that experience live with all the adhd crap they spew between whistles.

Sure, since he will likely be a 1st OA and would be in NHL at 18 that will only cost him 4 years of his prime earnings. Why would that bother him it is only what about $50M if he is a star.
Who makes $50mil by age 22 in the NHL DrCrabs?

Certainly disturbing behavior, though hardly limited to 'hockey culture'. Disgusting and abusive initiation rituals have been documented in numerous organizations, (sport, fraternities, military, etc) all equally repellent. I have played and coached hockey for over forty years without witnessing anything remotely resembling the details in that article. Unfortunately, something very similar occured on my high school volleyball team during an out of town tournament.

The behaviour we allow will become accepted as the norm. Of course in our society individuals have the right to express themselves or refuse to participate in others’ expression, within the law. But we are already seeing the negative impacts of this one player’s Actions. Other bigots are feeling empowered (now) to express their hatred of other people. The NHL has a mess on their hands. It’s going to be difficult to clean it up now.
The irony is palpable.
