Does anyone else get incredibly frustrated seeing people loot all armour from corpses?
I stay around 130 carry weight at all times, and have money coming out my extremities.
nope my armour is half my weight any ways =/
-
little tip: DONT finish the main quest chain at lvl 22. I kept expecting to be stopped somewhere along the way due to my low lvl and I would have to leave it for a bunch of levels but that didnt happen. Its anticlimactic afterwards. But a dragon killed Lydia along the way and I couldnt let that slide.
Im board and sword but dual wielding can be fun in a lot of battles. You can just cast a bound sword for your second weapon.
P.S. on the giants, first time one hit me I thought I could fly for a few seconds lol.
is the bound sword just a mirror of the actual sword you wield?
or does it have its own stats?
-
I always just wait for it to land, then go and hack it to pieces. Never fails. A bit of destruction magic helps.
not sure about skyrim dragon's but don't dragons in general have high magic resistance...
so magic would be weak versus dragons in skyrim right?
-
Surprised no one else prefers dual wielding. Has to be the most fun option.
But still, I think it's best to keep your attack versatile. That's why my blocking and archery are both at 50. It's fun to overpower a skill, but it leaves you vulnerable if you're not prepared for all situations.
not if ur blocking has elemental protection
yeah dual wielding is fun but not too realistic
-
Tell me how effective that is against giants.
lol im lvl 19 atm
haven't tried to fight a giant in a while
the time i did, i hid under a bridge and used magic and arrows on it =/
-
yeah
im the same style as you
i tried archery today and i admit it is very fun
but it requires more patience and sneakiness
in the future i may make an archery/thief dagger type character
-
i find archery to be the easiest way to defeat combatants but that's just me.
thats when u sneak
but i like to charge in with a shield and sword... heavy armour and tank it up

I would guess that about 75% of all players went with Wood Elves because they are the best class for archers (which is the most popular playstyle).
Personally I added to that 75% of people. I love being an archer and female Wood Elves are pretty yummy.
is it really?

I'm level 40 and have a 100+ hours of gameplay, and I just visited Windhelm for the first time. So I would say don't worry about it, lol. Though from what I understand, certain quests do require you to be at a certain level to trigger, but none that are important.
k sweet, ty bassi
i visted Windhelm right after Whiterun
compared to whiterun. windhelm is so bad
all snowy...no wonder the stormcloaks would reside there
btw which of you guys joined the stormcloaks and which joined the Empire?

by what level should we have visited all the major cities/towns by?
like are there some cities in skyrim that can only be accessed at a certain level or via a certain quest?
-
If you need money 1 advice. Kill the innocent farmers! They are easy pickings!!! Pillage them!
do new farmers re-spawn to take there place?
i accidently killed Arcadia in Whiterun and now have no alchemist in the city to buy potions from

If you ever plan on buying a house in Whiterun maybe killing the guards isnt the best use of your time. At lvl 18 my sword and board Nord is around magika 100 health 210 stamina 160 before any perks. He only really uses magika to heal himself and to create a bound sword when he wants to dual wield so base magika amount is fine for that. Points are mostly in 1 handers with 3 or 4 in heavy armour and 2 in restoration. Im not sure the points in heavy armour were the best choices but they seemed right at the time. If you want to add destruction to the mix maybe test out how much magika you use and how often you run out during combat to decide how much to raise it.
Ya ,I'm gonna make one of these guys myself. Just got tired of my level 33 wood elf and am looking forward to a fresh start. I wouldn't use destruction magic as it spreads you out to thin on the perks and doesn't allow for an blocking. I tried to have an all around guy, but there was a rough time at around level 23 to 27 where I would just get destroyed. So I dropped Destruction and just focused on a few skills, ( achery and one hand, light armour ). Restoration is good to have but between food and potions you shouldn't need much magicka. You need stamina for power attacks.
yeah my sword and shield nord is now lvl 9
i put all my level increases to health atm but will put some stamina tommorrow
i put like 3 into one handed, 2 into heavy armor, 2 into block, 1 smithing, 1 restoration
i enjoy blocking and smithing is necessary to build the heavy armor necessary
and restoration like you said with food and pots... i wont really dive deep into that
i read somewhere else that this type of character also needs to upgrade speech, smithing (as i started to do), and a little bit of restoration
-
can anyone offer some advice for what to focus on skill/perk-wise
im a shield and sword nord that will get my restoration up as well...and sometimes use destruction magic
which skills should i put my perks into and also what should the ratio of my magicka:health:stamina be?
lastly are whiterun guards suppose to be too difficult for a Lvl 4?

I would just say to pick whatever race gives you the bonus' you want.
I picked a Wood Elf, as I love Archery...and I like to Sneak.
Magic in one hand and Sword in the other sounds good, but you are going to need lots of Magicka. That and to get all the Destruction perks to make it so you use less Magicka. You're going to be doing a lot of running backwards without a shield to avoid incoming attacks.
I've never tried Expert, I just played on the difficulty it started on. Which is Normal I'm guessing.
yea i did some reading and im going to make a heavy armour sword and shield nord for my first character
kind of playing like a roman soldier would which i've always enjoyed
my 2nd and 3rd guys will be a pure mage and a stealthy archer/assasin
i attacked a chicken in riverwood and almost got my ass r*ped

^anyone?
i mad a Nord and i'm playing on expert

Question about the game:
after you have finished the campaign and all the other quests, what do you guys enjoy doing?
roaming around the world...?
