  1. Lots of positivity, which is good.

I'd recommend slightly tempering the enthusiasm though.  Anytime a player gets this hyped by CDC we tend to get vengeful when they don't meet our expectations...then they become the whipping boy for anything & everything that happens during the season.

Wishing this guy all the best and hopefully he's the kind of forward that can drive play.

Ray Liotta is dead ... the actor passed away while in the Dominican Republic.

Ray was shooting a movie called "Dangerous Waters" on the island, and a source close to the actor tells TMZ ... he died in his sleep. We're also told there was nothing suspicious about the death, and no foul play is suspected.

Ray's fiancée Jacy Nittolo was with him in the D.R. while he was working on the project.

    Deadline first reported his passing.

Liotta is most known for his starring role in the 1990 Martin Scorsese masterpiece, "Goodfellas," where he played mobster Henry Hill alongside Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci.

Ray lobbied hard for the role, and the film's success opened so many doors for him in Hollywood ... he worked almost nonstop.

The year before "Goodfellas" he had co-starred with Kevin Costner in another iconic film, "Field of Dreams" ... in which he played Shoeless Joe Jackson.

Ray went on to star in countless other films, including "Cop Land," "Corrina Corrina," "Operation Dumbo Drop," "Unforgettable," "Wild Hogs" and "Blow" ... in which he played Fred Jung, father to Johnny Depp's character, George Jung.

THE LAST TIME WE SAW HIM TMZ.com

Jacy and Ray got engaged in 2020, right around Christmas. He excitedly shared the happy news on Instagram.

He has one daughter, Karsen Liotta, from his previous marriage to Michelle Grace. Karsen is following in her dad's acting footsteps.

    Ray was 67.

    RIP

Who here takes off their shoes before entering someone’s home? I thought all people did this, but to Americans it’s apparently something no one’s ever done.

I've been to the States a few times.  This was always the thing that got me the most lol.

  4. When Juolevi got traded I remarked that this could be the beginning of the rebuilds rebuild.

Apparently management is still dragging their heels on that front.  I think a fan referendum and vote needs to take place so FA can clearly see what the fans want, and if its more of the same 10+ years of badness then so be it...but at least we will know where we stand.

  5. Common sense approaches by both Bure and Heff.  I could support either of them, and would at a referendum.

Running a nation has never been a simple task and is just getting more complicated as people and technology evolve.  Having some standards applied to a candidate may reduce the amount of detritus government seems to collect in the modern era.

  6. It's a gamble.  Could either pay off for the government or further galvanize support for the movement (especially in international reporting).

Not sure how it will shake out, but you'd have to think that the nominal leaders of the various convoy groups have been considering this for some time.  Curious to see if this is the fuse that lights the powderkeg that really shakes up the status quo.

What I would prefer is to scrap this whole idea of regional or population based idea of representation. We assume that everyone know enough about every subject to make these decisions while the simple fact is our world is now too complex for anyone to have a good grasp on everything hence how effective mis-information is to political expediency.

I would like it to be changed to representatives by sectors. Have a block of representatives from each sector voted by people in said sector. This way we have experts in each field that can make decisions based on professional expertise voted in by people that are experts themselves. So what we would have is engineers and scientist voting for fellow scientist or engineers into the block of technology representatives and healthcare workers voting in doctors and nurses to implement healthcare policies and so on.

This will help reduce party politics, geographical bickering, and implementation of dubious policies for political expediency. May also get rid of career politicians which is a nice bonus.

I know this ain't ever gonna be implemented but I think if this pandemic had taught us nothing else is that we need people in power that actually know what they are talking about when it comes to their field rather than lawyers trying or political scientist majors trying to dictate health and environmental policies.

    Like an actual meritocracy.

It would certainly create an efficient society, but I could see politicians of every party resisting a system like this every step of the way....so naturally it is probably one of the better fits

    I prefer ranked ballot personally.

Ranked ballots is interesting, I've read through it a few times...not sure I totally grasp all of it (but that could be said of numerous things in my life).

What I've seen though, makes sense to my limited understanding.  The GDP idea that Bure had is interesting as well, although I have friends in the maritimes that would be furious at such an approach.
