They rarely ever did. I have really bad memories of waiting for the 169 for half an hour at Coqitlam Station coming home from swimming practices when I was in highschool (we practiced out at the rec centre beside Douglas.) And I still don't think it would have been faster regardless, unless the 160 was there right when you got off the 169. Maybe the buses are different now, but I don't remember the 169 being that fast... Seriously, the 97 cut down my trip by at least 20 minutes if not more than that. It's always better to avoid transferring if you can.

I can top that. I had a lady bus driver on the number 9 Halloween who was handing out candy. So nice.

Umm, I used to love the 97 when I went to Douglas. But that's because I could get it straight there rather than having to transfer at Coquitlam Station.

I was just in England for a week (Croyde in North Devon to be precise) and I took a couple of pictures of the local village bus just for you guys. Yah okay, not that exciting, but the only other public transit I took was the Heathrow Express between terminals in the airport, and I didn't dare take pictures of that will all the security people around. and the interior The layout is very similar to our newer buses in the lower mainland. Only different thing really is that the bus driver sits in a glassed-in area and you don't have to have exact change for the bus. Also, you can buy a return ticket.

I think they fixed the signs at Broadway? I was there today and the platform signs had "Broadway Commercial" written out in full.

Are they going to change the station announcement to match the name-change? Ie. instead of: "the next station is...Broadway. Transfer point to the Millenium Line via. Commercial Drive station." it should probably say: "the next station is..Commercial Broadway, transfer point to the Millenium Line via. platforms 3 and 4 (or 1 and 2, I forget.) or, to match the platform signs "the next station is commel beedway" Yes?

The only bus that goes to the airport is the 83, but the schedule is umm...spotty at best. http://www.bctransit.com/regions/vic/sched...fm?line=83& Honestly, your best bet is to take the shuttle http://www.victoriaairportshuttle.com/ You can either take it from downtown, or get the 70 from royal oak exchange to McTavish Park and Ride and get it from there. Just make sure to call ahead and reserve.

Just curious, how much would an extension of the Millenium Line to Granville cost if done at the same time as the Evergreen Line? Would that make the situation on Broadway better or worse? I was discussing this with my Dad the other day, and he brought up that idea. I thought I'd pitch it here...

It really is. Quite annoying that you have to go all the way to Waterfront to catch it. They really need to build the UBC extension so you could catch the Millenium Line to Cambie and change there (I'm assuming any planned extension would connect up to the Canada Line somehow.) Honestly though, you're not missing much. It's a pretty boring ride given that it's all underground except for a portion of South Vancouver and Richmond.
