TDL is over; Richie's a Canuck again; it's a new dawn, a new day, a new life for .. (Traffic/Stevie Winwood)

He is a competent, if aged, Right Hand Centre who can win faceoffs and his contract ends when this season (and playoffs?) ends.

He definitely fills a need for that 4C position and brings the intangibles.

    Go Richie Go!

    I try to explain…

We need veterans, yes, but more in the mold of Sutter, Beagle and maybe Schenn.

Not the top dog of the team as Miller became and in that position break up the whole team culture since the Sedins. It was great the first year when Petey wasn’t threatened as no.1.

Petey and Hughes fits the Sedins culture perfectly

If the meaning of breaking up that culture aquiring Miller, Horvat should have been stripped of captain directly as one bit.

Hogz and Podz should have started under Cull and learnt the NA ropes.

Roussel should still be around as the mental case and so

Management needs to decide wich road they will follow.

You might understand what I’m going at but It’s a bit hard in english.

I hope you get my drift as I only point in the right direction and the changes I’m talking about might be the wrong.

But Miller and Petey isn’t a match.

And that is a pity when we’re talking about the two best forwards we got.

I choose Petey of the two based on age and when our other young players will reach their best years, around 25-30 years.

    Miller is to old then.

The culture of the club after the cup run in 2011 was a country/golf club.

Back to back Presidents Trophies but we were feasting on Flames, Oilers, Wild 8 times a year who were awful.

We scored 8 goals in 7 games in the final, Luongo had 2 shut outs (mind you he sh!t the bed in Boston).

Love the Sedins, but how did they play after getting their 7mil contracts?

I'm sorry if I sound like Don Cherry but that "culture" does not win cups and it has plagued this team for decades

  3. Good teams coast through the season and ramp it up playoff time.

Our boys have been playing "playoff" hockey just to get back into the race but they are physically and mentally done.

When you get shut out at home by Tory Stecher and Sam Gagnier in a must win thats all you need to know.

Miller is playing like a man possessed but he is looking for the big contract, I don't think he cares whether its here or somewhere else.

If Gretzky can be traded, anyone can. Don't overestimate the players loyalty and get suckered in to all the badge kissing.

Hopefully management will be ruthless in their decisions and the guys that are left put on their big boy pants and play like they care

I can tell you that some people are just assholes from day one, literally.
Doesn’t change my disposition towards them professionally, personally I just try to limit the time around them, I mean other than spending my time on this board.

The Dr is right, assholes are everywhere               spacer.png

Bure does lead the Canucks.  Just like Gretzky and Kurri, when Bure was killing penalties he was a threat to score every time.  It was beautiful to watch.  I believe Petey can eventually be that guy too.  We will see.  One step at a time.

I think Petey is going to be a late bloomer it's a physiological development thing with him. At 19-20 he was still a kid with no sense of fear but he got injured a lot if you remember his first 2 seasons. He's missed a lot of hockey in the last year as well. Looking at the tash he was trying to grow for Movember is a tell tale sign he is still growing into a man body. He needs to hit the gym and put on some functional muscle he looks like bambi at the moment. Look out if he puts it all together at 25 he's going to be a beast just in time for his new contract. Bure was built like a sh*t brickhouse he was like 190 and could level people if he had too, he was a bad man when he needed to be with a killer instinct in front of goal

Toni Tanti was a beauty playing on a very bad team. How much would he be making in today's NHL?

Also who would of thought putting your best players on the penalty kill might be a good idea??

Bure is 2 goals off the lead for all time short handed goals with like 500 games less than Federov who is first.

Bure would scare the living bejesus out of the point guys, one bad pass and he was gone you had zero chance of catching him!

Guess who will top the leaderboard by the end of his career for SH goals hes only 5 goals behind? The one and only RAT BOY
