All the teams and players which were involved in the exchange of players between the Flames, Panthers and Columbus have gone into the toilet with the changes in team chemistry.

The lone exception is Colorado, who lost Kadri, and who struggled early but who have come back late in the season.  They would be better with Kadri, but their core was sufficiently intact and they survived.

Mackinnon was also hurt for part of the year. Insane he’s now top 5 in scoring.

I don't know. To me, he's too often making these long passes to guys in the wrong colored shirts.

He's technically a reclamation project and still needs to be polished. The raw talent is there and he is engaged and working hard - that's the difference between those who end up turning it around and those who don't. If he spends the rest of the season learning the systems and adapting to the off-ice stuff, I can really see him and Podz being a solid 3rd line that can score and move up the line-up seamlessly.

    Would you rather:

    1. Keep OEL for the next 4 seasons and draft Reinbacher (who could possibly join the team in 4-5 years)

    2. Trade the 1st and OEL in a package (maybe adding Hoglander or Rathbone) = clean slate

Definitely the first for me. I think a healthy OEL has a bit more to give and with the acquisition of Hronek I think if OEL even played to what he did previous seasons we could let Reinbacher develop on his own time and run with an OEL - Hronek pairing if Hronek isn't playing with Hughes. This also allows other prospects like Filip Johansson develop and even bring Wolanin up as a 3rd pairing.

With the second scenario I feel like we'd be giving up assets for cap space which is valuable but mostly because of the economic state the league is in and in a few seasons cap-space is going up and there would be less of a premium than it is now. I think it would be short-sighted to turn a new page without getting a quality piece back, and I would be inclined to assume that we aren't going to with that package.

TLDR - run with the first scenario and let cost controlled contracts develop and move up as we unwind on albatross contracts.

We have a coaches no staff who insists guys don’t cheat the game. That’s why Horfat is gone big time cheater of how to play.

Lol Fr. Horvat works hard but lowkey a cheater for a player who is known for his work ethic.

Few months back, can’t remember where I read or saw it, stay away from Mccleod from NJ for now. He’s one of the names in question along with Bean, Formenton and Batherson with regards to team Canada in the 2018 juniors. Might be best to stay away from targeting guys on that team until the issue is resolved. Might never know……

Agreed, that entire debacle made me physically sick to my stomach. Egregiously crosses the line of humanity which takes outright precedence over anything related to hockey.

We start the gdang parade. Bedard, Petey, and Wright as your 1,2,3 punch would be insane.

The real difference, IMO, between Wright and Bo is that Wright hates to lose and has the fire to lead his team into the fight. I've never seen that in Bo (aside from the bubble, but he's not the guy to lead us to the playoffs and then also perform). Wright is a big time player.

Bo is a big-time player but not a big-time leader is how I like to think of it.

It was allegedly associated with organized crime; I do not consider that to be non-exploiting.  While people are certainly allowed second chances, that second chance does not need to be in the form of a head coaching job of the Canucks.  He also was enough of a scumbag in Arizona to drive OEL out of town; as we are stuck with OEL, would it not be a smarter move to hire a coach who can use him and isn't a proven failure as a coach and as a man?

Tocchet didn't do his time and got off with probation, which is far too soft a punishment.  Bottom line is there is zero excuse for allowing this vermin anywhere near our dressing room.  I absolutely won't stand idly by and allow Rutherford to disgrace the franchise by hiring this bottom feeding parasite.

Yeah I don’t see how Tocchet is the one to revive OEL. I don’t see how Tocchet is the one to revive the Canucks in general. Hasn’t won anything and his Arizona team played abysmally. Can someone explain the logic of this hire please?
