I thought we actually played without passion (I do think guys make effort, except Loui) the whole game. We get little sparks, but - unless we score - there is no flame. And even then any flame goes out quickly. IMO it’s a combination of older players who are just soft (that’s who they are) and a coach’s systems and philosophy that make for passive play. Our young top players are getting more and more frustrated. Now are they frustrated with the systems they have to play within? Do they have confidence in those systems? Do they have confidence in their coach?
I saw your quote on the Boston/TBay game the other night, now that's take no prisoner playoff intensity!
I can't see our team play with that kind of fire, because I haven't seen it under Green's watch.

We held Columbus to a few shots through two periods, and hit a bunch of posts. The effort is there. Sucks that we didn't get the result we wanted.
There was no effort to start the third, you're down two ffs.

Disagree about talent, Giroux, Voracek, Provorov, Hart to name a few.
We can cover the full roster player by player and agree or disagree ( I did look at their numbers ) but AV has his team going simply because he knows how.....in his first year.
That's experience.

Oilers are playing a fantastic 200 foot system under Tippet just like he had in Arizona
think a coach doesn’t matter?
See Vigneault in Philadelphia. A tougher conference with lesser talent in his lineup than ours.

No passion or urgency in our play.
Never seen anything like this from Canuck teams ( less Keenan years ) of the past when playoffs, jobs and pride are on the line.
At some point I expect to see some raging bull hockey but we get repetitive patterns of what look like practice drills.

Exactly how I feel, the Colorado game was to be the beginning of a strong run going forward.
The team played without desperation and cause.

So what was the message between the second n third period...
It's international womens day, don't forget to wash your hands and not to share water bottles, be Corona free and get the puck in deep we're down two!
Columbus has us pinned in with Demko like Markstrom saving an embarrasment starting the third.

Down 2-0 and how do they start the third, by getting dominated for the first five minutes.
Yup, thought the same thing and ended up taking a penalty too.
You're in a playoff fight for you llife and you come out flat and uninspired..whaaaaa-aaat?

He's a great coach imo. They were the better team in Edmonton and showed the Canucks how to start a third period!

Coaching mistakes? Green missing matchups?
If MacEwen gets a hatrick, he should see 11 minutes of ice time next game

Internet for free, if you don’t mind the play by play in Russian.
Are you joking when you comment on foriegn language broadcasts from the internet?
I have been online NHL for about 10 to 12 years and have had a choice between home or away broadcast teams...

Lol, true.... Well hopefully Marky will be back and he can steal us some road victories.
Markie, home or away is on another planet this year!

I actually don't. Starting away takes the pressure off.
You've seen our road record this year .

More important game for us is Wild at Ducks. We would love ANA beat MIN so the Wild stay behind us.
VAN
NSH
WPG
MIN
Two of those 4 teams will make playoffs and all 3 teams chasing us are playing very good hockey right now.
I still have my sights set on second in the division, I want home ice!

Not surprised boeser is back so early
they didn’t know what was goin on with him and a rib injury isn’t that serious...a nagging one for sure but playable
too bad it’ll probably cost macewan his spot and not you-know-who
Make me sick to see that you-know-who and when Beagle returns, then who?

Tampa learned a lot from last year, they added some much needed push back into their lineup.
The Bruins game was as much about skating as it was about not backing down in any confrontation and that was my point. Playing with fire and intensity - hating the opponent.
I haven't seen that from this club under Green, only briefly last year with Schenn he was often pushing after the whistles.
