I was listening to 1040 at around 9:00 am and the two guys hosting (can't remember their names) had an interesting idea.  They were saying that it should become a thing that everyone should drink a beeGuinness.JPG.4a21941c342d61cdb4e05a283f3c4d36.JPGr every time Jake scores.  I'm in.  What about you all? ::D

I'll buy myself a nice 12 pack for this purpose and pray I finish it by seasons end.

If you go at the right times, you can avoid the gorillas.

The turf field upstairs is great for plyo and sled stuff and box jumps.

You also have access to the heavy bags in the boxing room if you're into that.

Theres so much equipment there I have no clue how to use haha, the idea of mixing in some new workouts is exciting.

Platinum. About 10-15 minutes south on King George from Club 16 Central City. It's on 72 and King George.

Went in to check it out today, I almost wept.

Will gladly pay 3 times the price for 10 times the gym.

    Looks pretty nice

Edit: Found the answer to one my question.

Lol, I walked into the gyms change room yesterday and this dude was on the phone desperately trying to get some drug to combat his severely itchy nips.

The guy has a really nice physique (no homo), but damn, now it’s got me wondering who else at my gym is on my he special vitamins.

I’ve never been to that particular gym, but I find early mornings at most gyms it’s usually the more professional older folks at the gym getting a workout in before work and gets all greasy and douchey after 4:00pm

I was there from 2-4, so no luck there lol.

I think he’s just a massive human being. He was huge his whole career.

How far are you willing to drive?

Honestly, not far.  I'd prefer to stay in Surrey at the very least.

  6. Just moved to Surrey and started hitting up the Club 16 at Surrey Central.  Man there's a lot of douchebags there.  Not nearly enough equipment either.  The Club 16 in Coquitlam wasn't great, but it was far better.

The gym in Surrey is only like a 3 minute drive from my place, but I think I might start looking at some other options if I'm still not digging by the end of the month.  Any recommendations?

Career mode will have to blow me away, it wont though.  I didn't buy NHL18, first time ever I didn't get a hockey game.  I really don't give a rats ass if I could dress up like a lumberjack and play meaningless pond hockey and I never will touch the HUT mode.  I miss the old EASHL of leveling a player up too.

Then you, like I, mean nothing to the EA NHL team.  All they care about it the money gets fed into HUT and apparently now player customization.  The offline modes are dead for the NHL series and likely will be for a while because there is no money in it.

On another note, HUT is the absolute worst game mode.  I really don't see the appeal at all.  It's basically a crappy stripped down version of GM Connected, but with cards.

Famous Jameis suspended 3 games.  Wonder wtf happened and if it'll be on Hard Knocks.

Probably a result of the unproven groping case against him.

The Uber driver accused Winston of fondling her in 2016, but the incident came to light in a BuzzFeed report in November. The NFL said at the time it was looking into the allegation.

The driver told BuzzFeed Winston “just grabbed my crotch” and kept his hand there for several seconds as they waited in a drive-through lane at a Mexican restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona, in March 2016. The quarterback was banned from Uber after the driver filed a complaint with the ride-sharing service. However, no police charges were filed, and Winston has denied the allegations.

  9. Will reserve judgement until they announce/don't announce any improvements Be a Pro or GM Mode.

Both are easily the worst of any sports franchise and have in terms of what there is, and what they add year to year.

Yes, but people keep forgetting that I'm a bit of a prick.  I like to pick on people occasionally.  Pats bandwagon fans, 90% of which are incredibly thin skinned, are the easiest to catch after chumming the waters.  Unfortunately the bandwagoners got themselves banned a year or two ago.

Fortunately 50% of long time hardcore fans are just as thin-skinned as the bandwagoners.  The odds beared that out here.  I was able to reel in 1 of the 2 hardcore Pats fans left on CDC.

Picking on the Seahawks is also a lot of fun.

While there are lots of diehard fans (especially in Seattle), it's curious how many "lifelong Seahawks fans" started appearing here in BC in 2013.  Most of them are extremely thin skinned.

I believe it was driving while taking medication he had been prescribed. He almost won the players a few weeks ago. He's struggled with multiple back surgeries and I don't think he handled the media well at all after the incident with his wife. If he stays healthy he is going to get right back to winning.

The DUI was pretty bad, he tried to make it seem like it was an "oops I took a bit too much of whatever and made a mistake", but the toxicology report is pretty damning.

The report says the five different drugs that were traced in his system were: Hydrocodone, an opioid pain medication; Hydromorphone, another type of painkiller; Alprazolam, an anxiety drug also under the brand name Xanax; Zolpidem, a sleep drug also under the brand name Ambien; and Delta-9 carboxy THC, which is found in marijuana.

It doesn't take a doctor to know you shouldn't be driving while being on opiods, xanax, ambien, and marijuana.  Like cmon.  And just look at how rocked he was lol.

I think all the injuries and the scrutiny really messed with his mojo.  No doubt he was one of the best golfers of all-time in his prime, but those days look long gone.

And now you've just proven my point. You are separating lies judging one different than the other. What Lance Armstrong did was cheat to win and then lie about it and make himself millions of dollars. Tiger Woods did something in personal life which you nor I know the exact facts about. Doesn't change the golfer he is and you can't judge him on what you don't really know as you've just said we all lie.

He also got charged with a DUI and is essentially irrelevant as top golfer nowadays (hasn't won a thing since 2013).

    He flamed out big time.

So far no side effects, though I've kept the dosage really low (16mg in the morning, 16mg in afternoon). The "gold standard" dosage is apparently 25 mg 3x/day .

I don't think I'll ever do that, but I am going to experiment with 24mg in the morning and 24mg in afternoon.

Where did you buy your ephedrine?

Went into the supplement store by my gym and asked if they carried any, and the employees there told me that they "legally weren't allowed to carry it anymore", which apparently isn't true in the slightest lol.

  14. Not unhappy with the McGlinchey pick.  I think he went a bit high, but Garoppolo needs protection and he's the best Tackle prospect in the draft.

Ward going to the Browns at #4 was super surprising don't think he was worth that pick.  And the new details surrounding Reuben Foster's legal troubles make it seem like he will be available to us, which kind of negated our dire need for a LB.  Getting OLine help not a bad call at all.

  15. For the Niners at #9.

    1. Denzel Ward

    2. Tremaine Edwards

    3. Roquan Smith

Hope we trade down though.  We need help in a lot of places.  If we could get a first and another early pick (hopefully another 1st or an early 2nd depending on which team we are trading with), and end up adding a CB, WR, and an LB after our 50th pick I'd be super happy.

Kids at the gym driving $80,000 suvs they could never afford themselves. If they worked as hard pumping iron as they do spending dad's money, they would be jacked.

I had a guy the other day ask me if he could store his Burberry jacket (which he made a point of telling me cost $4000) in my locker, because he thought the gym would have quarter lockers like a community center and didn't have a lock himself.

Like 1) who the hell wears a $4000 jacket to the gym, 2) why are you going to a $16 a month gym if you own a $4000 jacket that you wear casually, and 3) buy yourself your own lock buddy!

You should be able to pull 400 pounds with a double overhand grip and no straps. I used to deadlift with a mixed grip all the time until I realized my grip strength sucked so I stuck to weight I could lift with the double overhand until I built my grip strength up. Farmers walks, isometric pull-up holds/bar hangs, and Kroc rows have all helped my grip a ton.

Of course, if your goals are more physique/aesthetic oriented then who cares, just use straps. If you’re focused on strength training improve your grip.

Mainly I just want to look good, but end of the day I'd still like to see some progress with my strength as well.  Will probably keep using the straps for a bit, and mix in a little more grip focused workouts as well, grip strength in general is always something good to have.

My strength is, was. I never got past 315 without straps, but worked up to 500 with them. Probably couldn't do much more than 400 without them. They make a massive difference. It's that or constantly work on your hand strength with those squeeze grip deals, or holding heavy dumbbells as long as you can

Used the straps today and was hitting 5x of 395, so a definite improvement.  Best burn I've gotten in a while from my deadlifts for sure.  Good call.

Straps, your hand strength will never keep up with your legs

I've got a set of straps that I used to use way back in the day when I first started lifting.  Ditched them when I realized my grip strength was absolutely horrible and decided to really focus on improving it.

Might not be a bad idea to dust them off and see how she goes.

  19. Did my 1st 5x 345lbs squat and first 5x 245 bench sets this week, which I'm super pumped about, especially since I'm on the lower end of my weight range right now.

However my deadlifts have stalled if not regressed over the past few months.  I was at the point where I could usually hammer out 3 if not 4 reps at 405,  now I'm struggling to hit the 3rd rep at 395, and often can't even finish it.  More than anything I'm just finding it hard to keep holding the bar and my grip gives out, I often don't even feel much of a burn in my legs by the time I give out.  Super frustrating.  Anybody have any good grip strength tips/bar holding techniques that have worked for them?
