Lions re-sign veteran kicker McCallum:

The B.C. Lions re-signed kicker Paul McCallum on Thursday.

"Paul has been one of our most consistent and dependable players since coming here in 2006," said Lions vice president of football operations and general manager Wally Buono. "He has been one of the very best at his position and this is a very important signing for the club."

"Special teams, whether it's the return game, field goals or kickoff coverage, all are critical to our success on the field and I'm very pleased Paul will be returning," said head coach Mike Benevides.

McCallum shattered records for consecutive field goals (30) and field goal success rate (94.3) last season and earned the CFL's Most Outstanding Special Teams Player award.

"I'm excited to be staying with the Lions," said McCallum. "Anytime you can play for your hometown club and finish the year the way we did last season with a Grey Cup win it's something you just want to build on moving forward."
