  1. I broke my foot. On my birthday. Standing still. How many people do you know that can do that?

I did the same thing once. Two birthdays ago I broke bones in two of my toes and had a bunch of fractures in those little bones that run up your foot from your toes. Had to use a cane for over a month.

Except not the standing still part. I was running and I hooked the two toes accidentally in a metal heating grate (on the side of the wall) while I was turning a corner at full speed. Some yucky pops and cracking sounds and then me yelling and swearing for about 10 minutes.

  2. NBC had some kind of weird obsession with Shawn White. When they flipped to the athlete shots, it was always Shawn White. But very much agreed. I hate NBC and always have. It irritates me that when no one else gets the feed for a game it's because NBC has it. I don't want to watch anything on NBC. They suck. They've been having problems for a long time and they need to just finish falling apart, cry me a river, and disappear. Plus they had some kind of volume issues as well. Not to mention, in their summary, they're already listing it as "Martin Broduer, the NHL's all time leader in shutouts, leads a veteran Canadian squad onto its home ice on Tuesday as they take on Norway." Really?... /rant
