JensenFan2011
To Van: 1st round pick, Stastny To Col: Edler, 1st, Booth If col gets second pick and Jones is picked first then they will more than likely look to trade down and aquire a good defense men AKA Edler. Booth would be a bonus as they need left winger depth as well. To Van: 1st round pick To NYI: Luogno Luongo just wants to play and will have to go whever a team wants him. Buy out Ballard Resign tanev for 1.8 mill a year Lappy 1.5 mill a year Torres 1.5 mill a year Whitney 2 mil a year Barker 0.75 mill a year Vandeemeer 0.75mill a year Pininzotto 0.900 mill a year Then we could have: Sedin Sedin Burrows Jensen Stastny Kesler Higgins Mackinnon Hansen Torres Lappy Kassian Pininzotto Hamuis Bieksa Garrison Corrado Whitney Tanev Barker Vandeemeer Schneider Lack This line up is salary cap compliant did it in cap geek and it looks like an awsome line up. As it was too much cap was being spent on our D. I proposed this in another thread but wanted to see what people thought about this line up. elvis15
Trade for Stastny and then buy him out? Why wouldn't we just trade Edler for their 1st (it wouldn't take our 1st to even that out) and then buyout Booth instead? And why would NYI trade for a goalie when they still have DiPietro on the books, and even potentially Thomas if he wants to return to play? Or we could just keep Edler and our 1st, and trade Booth to Colorado separately if they want a LW. Then we don't have to worry about buying out someone yet still have space to re-sign Roy. Maybe Ballard has to get bought out, but I'd think a team like NYI would be somewhere we could trade him to for a mid-pick. Bad trades.

wizeman
The islanders are overstacked with talent they havent even used yet. Their payroll cap is so low they can buy UFAs so they aint trading for anyone. Pretty sure their team goes from first round exit to a top 10 team in the off season. Its going to become vogue to sign on long island (brooklyn)
elvis15
or we could just keep stastny and let Roy walk. And NYI does need a goalie as theirs are on their way out. We saw this year that they are a competitor and i could see them going after an elite goalie like luongo and yes it would take edler+ our first just to get their first. Alex Burrows 14
If we pulled this off it would be very impressive
