  1. We end up trading Luongo and Scheider for a first round pick (Horvat) Matthias, and Markstrom. If this doesn't show that Gillis is a complete incompetent I don't know what will. G. waited far too long to move Luongo, and didn't get remotely enough for Scheider. (He also didn't get nearly enough for CH.) - I wish our owner would wake up long enough to dump this incompetent... who should never (never) have been hired.
  2. Why would Florida make such a trade? I don't get it. - I assume this means Thomas will be moved before deadline... but I don't get this at all. - too bad it didn't happen a couple years ago when it should have.
  3. Torts was a complete idiot to start Lack. The man is clueless.
  4. "...if that Fox guy can bring his 50 goals over the NHL Gillis will be seen as a god)" - I thought we'd gone past the "Gillis is a God'' silliness. Gillis should never have been hired... and he should have been fired years ago. (The Luongo fiasco being just one example of his total incompetence; trading a leading goal scorer for some unknown who might - might - one day turn out... long after the window has closed... being another. And the examples go on and on and on.) - Gillis is only still here because the owner is an even greater buffoon than Mike.
  5. If you're waiting for MG to admit the window is closed you will wait a long time. He should never have been hired... and he's proven incompetent from day one till now. People who expect him to suddenly develop some kind of genius are deluded. The first thing he did was give away a second and third round draft pick for Bernier. A few months ago he gave away a second round pick for nothing. More recently he gave away a forth round pick for a couple of complete bozos. It never ends with this doofus. It's over... but I realize many fans don't want to admit this... who does? We need a real GM... but with our clueless owner I don't expect we'll ever get one.
  6. "You do know that toughness is about more than just fighting and hitting, right? Blocking shots counts as well. Of course, you already knew that." - I know a thousand times more about hockey than you ever will you silly child.
  7. "Also, it probably means Weise lost his spot on a healthy (minus Santorelli) Canucks team." - lost his spot to whom? that great physical, bruising, fourth line player Dalpe? Tell us to whom he lost his spot?
  8. When Tortorella got here he talked about making the team tougher. So what does MG do; add Dalpe, Welsh, Webber, and now Diaz. (Never mind that Santorelli and Stanton aren't exactly tough!) Is this a joke? Is this the Twilight Zone?
  9. I find this totally bizarre... but then again, I find almost all Gillis moves totally bizarre. There's no way this guy will be here next year... or even when all the D get back from injury. Weird. - I don't know that we have a right hand guy to replace Weise... can't think of one. We just got worse.
  10. "So in 1982, Harry Neale is suspended for 10 games and Canucks make the finals. Foreshadowing anyone?" - you apparently live in a dream world... where logic doesn't exist. - although Torts was an idiot... I agree that Shanahan is more inconsistent than a drunk with a hangover. His rulings are so bad they make those of a U.S. president make sense.
  11. I totally disagreed with what Torts did. He should have put his second or third line on. That was a sad farce... and it had nothing to do with protecting players.
  12. Comparing CH to ZK makes little if any sense... as it would be hard to find two more different players. - The trade was stupid and nonsensical for a great many reasons... few of them having anything to do with K. - no one would be telling us how great he is if he weren't wearing (however shabbily) a Canuck sweater.
  13. "Lead the team...'' Is that a joke. Kassian couldn't lead a dog to its food bowl.
  14. The focus on production is misplaced; the focus should be more on character, desire, fitness, willingness to follow the plan, discipline, etc. Without these there's no reason to believe he'll improve. "...is sometimes a shade lazy like all youngsters." - like all youngsters? Give me a break. Young players usually show a lot more energy than veterans.
  15. "Way too early. PWF's need time, history has shown that, get that through your head ffs." - Gee; too bad MG didn't know that a couple of years ago... when he traded for this lazy, undisciplined, out of shape, unmotivated superstar in the making... as he could be had now for a cup of coffee.
  16. If Tortorella gets the job history tells us there's almost no chance of a cup. As far as I know, only one coach in the modern era has won a cup with two teams... and that was Bowman.
