Spooner is reporting to Vancouver but hopefully eventually will be demoted to the Comets. At the moment b/c of Virtanen, Sutter, and Baertschi injuries, I think there is room on the roster for Spooner. When one of those guys gets healhty, they can send Spooner down. He is highly unlikely to be claimed on waivers because of his salary so the club doesn't need to worry (it would help their cap anyways) about sending him down later. I'm hoping Gaudette stays up longer and ends the season in Utica if the big team doesn't make the playoffs. Same for Brisebois, Schenn, Macewen.

I guess Spooner is taking JV's spot, McEwen and Gaudette are in for the other two. So he probably gets a look tonight, no?

On the contrary, he played almost 5 minutes more than the previous three games last night, so I think TG must have liked what he saw last night.

Did he play against San Jose or Calgary??

If we are playing the dream game here's mine

    Hughes Tryamkin

    Juolevi Stecher

    Hutton Gudbranson

Upload Tanev and Edler for 2 1st round picks.

Win Jack Hughes, let JB do his thing with the mid to late 1sts

    Go into next year with...

    Hughes Pettersson Boeser

    Virtanen Horvat XXXXX

    XXXXX Sutter XXXXX

    XXXXX Beagle XXXXX

    Hughes Tryamkin

    Juolevi Stecher

    Hutton Gudbranson

    Markstrom

    Demko

And a pretty deep Prospect pool.

Once we make the playoffs I believe this team will really start to climb the ranks for the next decade. JB has done a beautiful job!

If either Tanev or Edler are not part of that D, I see nothing short of a disaster.

what boggles the mind is the number of people that seem to think that this is the perfect time to run red lights or pedestrians thinking you are able to stop as if there is no snow. People lose their minds here for some reason when it snows. When I first moved here from SK I found it funny, now it just scares me.

This morning this young kid, pushed the walk button and stepped right off the curb as if nothing was going on. Luckily I was stopped and predicted that he would do that. No kidding, eh?

"This snow"? All 10cm of it.

800k? Do you know how many more vehicles there are in Greater Toronto Area for example. We have the mildest climate in all of Canada by far.

Different snow, no roads plowed, the crews are interviewed with TV cameras all around them, then nothing is done. Or, it doesn't snow at all. This is Vancouver in nutshell. But when it does snow, more than half the people driving have never driven in it, or don't have snow tires. -11C in a damp climate is not mild. I saw -54F in the interior of BC back in the winter of 1968, and happened to come down to Vancouver for a weekend, it was around 0F, I couldn't wait to get back to the interior.

This hilarious. 5-10 cm of snow entire city is unprepared and shutting down, mass chaos on the roads. Rest of the Canada is laughing at us.

The rest of Canada has never driven in this snow, add in the fact that half of YOU don't have snow tires. Close to 800 thousand vehicles in Greater Vancouver, is there any wonder why we have chaos?

He's scored 7 for Vancouver and another 4 for Toronto. 11 in total.

Those Toronto goals aren't posted in the Canuck stats, I'm confused! The broadcast crew were talking about his 11 goal season, then I check the stats, he has 7.

The Canucks only had 22 on the active roster last night. Big Mac gets them back to 23.   Baertschi, Edler and Demko all on IR and only Brisebois and DiPietro were up to replace them.

Thanks, that makes sense. Green didn't/doesn't sound to happy with Granlunds' game, judging by the comments from the post game interview. Fingers crossed, I hope he gets a game, and hopefully its tomorrow night, I've got tickets for the Sharks game.

Im trying to see as many as I can.. The 7pm (4am) games i see the last half before work (workday starts at 6 am Swedish time aka PST+9) the 4-5 pm games is hard to catch since they start at 1-2 am which would ruin me..

The matinees is a lock to see

The Swedish media is overhyped by EPs and RDs successes, two Swedes battling for the Calder and what Seems to be a top Dman and top Centre in the world in a couple years

We don't get to see many highlights of Rasmus, but, he's going to be a stud. Possibly because he plays in Buffalo. Now if he were a Leaf, I would go as far as saying, that Elias doesn't stand a chance for the rookie of the year. Both, as you say are going to be All World class in a couple of years. I like hearing your Swedish perspective on your Countrymen playing in the NHL, and those that are up and coming prospects as well.

I love Elias hit on Neal with 3 min to go in the third yesterday! Just amazing that he does that aswell..

Are you watching the games live in Sweden? If so, the Country must be happy with what they are seeing. That was who he body checked, and, he knocked him on his arse! The Real Deal is looking like a real failure for the Flames.

Green said his absence was not due to concussion I believe.

Not far into this road trip so he must have a longer term issue.

Green said when asked if it was concussion related, "I didn't say that", injury related, "I didn't say that". Sickness?

So another top player turns us down because we don’t have a proper field.  It’s not friggin’ rocket science to know having a turf field will hurt our team’s future.  Our government really messed up with the 500 million dollar Reno to BC place.

It was actually closer to a Billion dollars. However, for what, 35-40 Whitecap and BC Lion games, that natural turf would be destroyed by one Monster Truck event.

Ok but you can understand it though. This is a prospects thread for Canucks forum. When the Comets were struggling it was all about management and how they were a hindrance to the success of the Comets. Where are those same people now that the team is in a playoff spot and improving?

Those people have gone silent and should be served up platters of crow. No not everyone deserves to be lumped into that category, but we as Canucks fans are well within our rights to call them out.

Good on you for doing that too! The knives were out in November for sure.

What I meant is that the speed of the AHL is such that he processes the game faster than most players in this league and can read and respond to plays quicker.  The biggest adjustment that young players out of juniors have adjusting to the AHL besides playing against bigger more mature players is adjusting to the speed of the game.  They are always chasing the play and have less time to react to it with and without the puck on their stick.  The game looks very slow for Gaunce right now and he is making good decisions on each end of the ice.

His skating is what it is.  His straight line speed is more than adequate but his quickness and edge work hold him back.  His skating will never be an asset in the NHL but I think it is good enough to be an effective big body fourth liner in the NHL.

@UticaHockey, thanks. The reason I was asking, is because well, as Kanukfanatic said above, Motte has taken his spot. Injuries though, might get him back up, but it's not going to be a simple roster move that does. Having said that, he might be a better option than Schaller. I really haven't seen anything in his game, that speaks, "I'm playing my way onto this team starting now".
