  1. My stream's quality was poo all game. I don't know if I'll do a shift-compilation but will try to do a highlight if the quality isn't completely unwatchable.

You should be on the payroll buddy! You`re my fave.

  2. Geordie and Torie Robertson.........take alook at their careers.........Totally different.......look at Geordie's junior playoff points.......look at the size difference..................lol...............Take my word for it............Torie was not someone to play around with......pretty funny guy though.

Funny. I met Torie about 30 years and we were partying in Penticton were I grew up. He was a friend of my brother. He was 22 I think but built like a brick sxxt house. Arms like Popeye.

  3. Okay, my bad. I used your quote because you mentioned "Nylander" but it wasn't a direct response to you in particular. Most of us here are just tired of seeing his name brought up over and over again despite the number of times that conversation seems to die out.

Is it inevitable his name is mentioned? Sure, I guess... But it doesn't make it any less annoying.

As stated, I came across this sentiment trying to learn a little about how Jake was doing. I threw in what I had just read here in Sweden out of relevant interest. I am not a fan of Nylander (and have nothing against him either) and hope Jake makes it huge. Go `nucks!

  4. Hi guys. Just wondered how Jake was doing and came across quite a bit of sentiment that the Canucks should have gone with Nylander. As I live in sweden I read an article by the sports editor of the largest paper in sweden just yesterday imploring people to get out and see this kid while they have the chance! He is on a bad team but putting up some numbers. And to make a small world smaller ; I am his systers teacher. She will win Wimbledon!

  5. I dunno. It's like a ref dropping a puck right? Center gets credit for clean draws upon puck-drop. If it goes to the wing, it's basically a puck drop for the wingers to battle over, so I generally think that the credit the winger for winger wins. Personal preferences I guess.

Sometimes statistics get over used IMO. No centre should donminate draws over time really. If its not won clean by one of them call it a DRAW! Wingers should get credit? At the pace of the game every guy out there is a pro doing small intangibles constantly. Sure do some well-defined statistics but hey, shouldn`t a knowledgable fan be the one to pick up one the fine plays being made which not everyone notices. That makes discussing who is a better player fun. Too many stats sometimes maybe?

  6. There is a need for a top four d man.

Most teams would say the same I imagine.

As for Bo I don`t get why IF he stays this season he would spend a year in the AHL next as some propose? He is either good enough to do the job now or back to junior. And IF he is deemed good enough now the AHL seems like a major demotion IMO.

  7. Personally I hope Ehlers is available and we take him. I just wonder if Benning has a particular player in mind provided 1 of the top 5 don't fall to us. Nylander, Ritchie, Ehlers, and Virtanen are all the same in a sense that they are all excellent choices, but they also bring different skill sets and attributes to the table. Linden mentions that they will pick a player that will be the cornerstone for the franchise. I wonder which style of player they have in mind? As well as the later choices in the draft.

If this is true then Van is stupid to not try and trade down to 8 or 9.

  8. I am pretty certain there are lots of scouting reports on each of the players.

These guys are playing pro hockey against men, even guys returning from the NHL. A different game due to ice size but a good measuring stick. If they can perform in Europe at a young age then a good chance to take a step in my opinion a smaller step up to the bigs than junior.

  9. I don't see him having a long career. Too many injuries already scares me away. If none of the top 5 drop to is I hope we trade the pick and drop back even as far as 12 you are gauranteed one of Ritchie, nylander, virtanen, ehlers, perlini, kapanen or fluery. They are all comparable as far as value go. If we can aquire extra picks or prospects I'm all for it.

I tend to agree with you. If the next 2 drafts are deemed as being deeper then we should try to pick up a few drafts and still grb a great prospect this year.

  10. What guys have we taken in the 1st rounds lately, that have size, have been busts?

That's one undersized guy WE took. Guys with size won't always pan out either. Sure, size helps to be able to stay on the puck, but there are lots of small players that transition properly to the NHL. Brad Marchand, Andrew Shaw, Jiri Hudler,. Patrick Kane, Marty St. Louis, Zach Parise. The list could go on forever.

Size doesn't determine if someone will likely be a bust or not.

I agree there are great smaller players. However in terms of building a team, size is a very relevant component to being able to compete in this league and especially in the west. Vancouver`s first line is extremely soft and aging. Clearly that needs to be considered when putting the pieces together to support. It must be a consideration. Van also needs help now not 3 years down the road so if anything is to happen look for trades.
