  1. Rod is a physical, hard working winger who likes to get his nose dirty and get under the skin of his opponent. He drives the net and stands up for his teammates. Willing to do whatever is needed to get the win, he is a tireless fore checker and defensively responsible. Does not possess high end offensive upside.

I would rather go for a guy with high offensive upside with no defensive upside at all.

I was looking at the iss rankings, there were a few guys the got moved up from the 50s to the top 30 so i thought some some of them might be steals, i couldnt really find much on Noah Rod via video unfortunaly, other than that bio theres pretty much nothing :\

  2. No real scouts have said anything like that but he is making huge progress and I think that teams are watching him quietly trying not to attract much attention to Fiala because he has high potential.

He is #3 European on CS final ranks.

Keepin fiala in mind do you think he will be around when we pick 36th or do you think we will have to trade for a late 1st

  3. You have no way of knowing this or proving it, so it's really just your opinion.

The fact is, it didn't happen to "the best coach in the league", (whoever that may be) it happened to John Tortorella. Although it certainly wasn't entirely his fault, there has to be some accountability on his part.

My personal opinion is that JT made several tactical errors over the course of the season and was in part at least, directly responsible for the season being as poor as it was.

Whether his culpability is sufficient to garner him his walking papers is for Linden and the new GM to decide, but to suggest that he bears no responsibility is as bad a saying that he's solely responsible, IMHO.

Yeah but thats just your opinion...

  4. Kapanen is one of the best two-way forwards in this draft, and one of the best skaters in the draft if not the best (in the top 10 range of the draft). He has skill to go with his top notch speed and he is solid defensively, if he adds some weight then he should be a good top 6 winger.

Weight is one of the only concerns for most players in this draft and most of the drafted players that need to add weight, add weight it is how they grow. They are still kids, they are going to get bigger people seem to forget.

Just because Richie is 6'3 and 230 pounds doesn't mean he's the only power forward in the draft or big player, players will grow so don't let size at the age of 17/18 be a deciding factor to who we draft.

THANKYOU!!!! I tottaly agree, kapenen is THEEE most underated kid in the top 10 and i would be more than happy to trade down to say TOR for thir 2nd and draft kapenen, after all he is ranked higher than nyla1for a reason IMOO

  5. We need to build this team up from a 2 way shut down stand point.

Horvat and Gaunce were drafted with that in mind, and it's going to be the mindset of picking Ritchie going forward. Ehlers, Nylander, and Kapanen do not fit into what we're doing at all.

Jordan Schroeder was immediately benched because he was so easily pushed off the puck in the west. Ehlers, and Nylander do not fit into the western conference on an already small team with the Sedins and Burrows.

    Ritchie.

    Booth Kesler Kassian

    Sedin Sedin Jensen

    Ritchie Horvat Matthias

    Higgins Santorelli Burrows

    Richardson Gaunce Fox

Kapenen has no problem with defence and getting into the dirty areas, he is not pu$$y nylander...

  6. Well here's a few:

Eric Cornel makes alot of sense if we draft Richie as they are teammates and even without drafting Ritchie, Cornel is still a reliable two-way forward who has a good balance of scoring goals and setting up players. Watched him quite a bit too. 6'2 185 pounds

Cornel is a big rangy centre who skates well with strong balance, a powerful stride and good overall mobility. He is not afraid to use his size to push his way into scoring areas as well as protect the puck. The two-way playmaking centre has strong hands and a rocket shot.

    Eliteprospects.

Some players that we know who might fall are

    Fabbri

    Karlsson

Kevin Fiala is someone I'm hoping we can get since the beginning of the year, he also has more points than the popular William Nylander playing in the same league, this says it all:

Kevin Fiala is an offensive forward with game-breaking potential. He is a respectable and shifty skater with quick legs and explosive acceleration. Fiala owns a slick skill-set with soft hands, good stickhandling and brilliant puck-control. Not known for his defensive play, as he still needs to learn what it means to stick to a game-plan or doing exactly what the coach has told him. Fiala is not very big or strong yet, but his quickness and agility lets him avoid getting hit or held back along the boards. Has a wealthy arsenal of shooting tools which, combined with his creativity and finishing abilities, makes him the player you turn to if you need a goal.

Jack Glover is a kid we could use:

Glover is an impressive two-way defenseman who has good overall mobility. He's always aware in all three zones and defends with a physical edge, using his frame to separate pucks and size to clear the crease. He moves the puck well and has a good outlet pass

Warren Foegele is another guy I would look at, he doesn't play in the CHL but lights up college. 6'1 183 pounds center, there is a chance he might be available in the 3rd round.

There is a good chance we could find someone who was projected to be drafted around 25-30 in the 2nd round for us.

Look at the USHL for some players, Euros.

Look for Lucas Wallmark to drop.

Wallmark has first-class hockey sense and vision. Very smart player and a highly skilled playmaker. Has good puck control and will also battle hard for the puck. Good defensive game and face-off skills. Major concern is his skating ability, as he lacks speed and acceleration.

A Czech skilled player, Ondrej Kase is also very high skilled. I want to look at these skilled players because you can't teach hockey IQ, vision and hands, defense can be taught.

Kase is a slick, driven, speedy winger who sees the ice well and understands how to impact the game. A natural playmaker who handles the puck well in tight spaces. Has very acute hockey sense and willingness to go to battle with much larger opponents. Size is only ongoing issue.

    6'0 165 pounds.

I was also looking into kase, i would be interested for the 66th pick if hes available

  7. Well if a first round talent drops then them of course..

Realistic guys who could slide to our second pick are:

Karlsson (doubt he would be available)

Brandon Lemeuix (Possible, I would pounce on it)

Eric Cornel (Ritchie Cornel combo would be decent)

John Quenneville (I really really like him)

Honka (if available here gotta take him)

Jack Glover (Favourite US dman in draft)

Jack Dougherty (second favourite US dman in draft, would like to see his skating improve though)

Vladislav Kamenev (he is best russian in draft not in CHL

Jayce Hawryluk (LOVE Hawryluks game, and I think Linden would too!)

Alexis Vanier (Really dislike his skating/ mobility)

Would not take Hunter Smith until late 3rd or 4th round, not convinced yet, he could be just pulling the equivalent of a Bryan Bickell.

Open to later picks on these two:

    Rourke Chartier

    Alexis Pepin

If deffenetly thinking we should take an under rated euro with our 2nd

  8. Doubtful, as he needs to put on quite a bit of weight before he's NHL ready. And then he's his dad, tops. Who was not any huge game breaker even in his prime.

There are better legit game breakers coming up in the 2015 draft. We should pick a blue chipper in this one instead of a boom/bust project.

    Draft fleury?

  9. Ok people, we arent going to win the lottery, we will pick 6th (unless theres a trade) we will simply pick the best player available, who are the best 3 options outside of the top 5, you tell me. I personaly think we will pick nylander because naslund is gm of the team he plays for, modo, i think. I could see us plucking him

  10. Honestly I could see Buffalo taking Draistl

I read an article (don't know how credible) that said they thought he was the best out of the top 5.

If the order remains Buffalo or Florida first

    Buf Draistl

    Flo Ekblad

    Edm Sam

    NYI Dal Colle

    Calgary Ritchie

    Van Sam

I actually really think this is possible for some odd reason.

Either Bennet or Reinhart making their way to the Canucks.

Either that or EDM trades their pick to us for so they can take Fleury with the 6th.

    CALL ME CRAZY!

CANUCKS ARE PICKING REINHART OR BENNETT at 6!!!!!

    You're crazy
