This trade is so polarizing because it forces some fans to admit they think gaudette is good which then in tern makes some other fans scratch their heads ....
Heck it even shows us which media folks drank the gaudette kool-Aid and who didn’t. I.e macintyre vs bieksa.

AG on your team or a 3.25 mil TP for 3 years? How can we not just keep AG with so much potential vs a declining two way forward...... come on guys
if we got a good player in return this trade would be ok but wow come on this trade is indefensible
Pearson is a good hockey player. Gaudette is not.

Might as well of traded him to Boston ... Neely 2.0 here in the making
why would u trade the Hobey Baker hockey Gaud ?!
ESP when it is for nothing?! Omg Benning I was mad about TP signing now I’m done with u Jimbo
Hobey baker winner is all he was and that doesn’t mean anything.

Not quite Shinkaruk didn’t even have an NHL game. Gaudette had a 45 pro rated point season last year while on the 3rd line under 13 minutes a game. Highmore isn’t even regarded as much as Granlund was then and Granlund was 22 or 23 years old when we got him. Really don’t get this trade.
Stop worrying about gaudettes 2019-20 point total so much and maybe worry about the fact he’s been the most sheltered player in the nhl for a reason. Deep breaths kiddos

I don’t like the return but I also don’t like gaudette. His game looks to be over rated and will likely be over paid for what he actually brings.

I was gonna make a thread.. the Pearson signing is another blunder and complete waste of cap space. The guy is CLEARLY DECLINING AND YOU LOCKED HIM IN FOR 3 YEARS.. god Benning is a terrible GM. good at drafting? or maybe just has good scouts.. Probly the worst GM in franchise history.
IF YOU USE REALITY AS YOUR MEASSURE. THE CANUCKS SUCK! FACT! STATS DONT LIE
Ive been watching this team since Bure played his first game. This is getting old.
Since Bure eh? So you’re how old and still write in all caps?
I too agree that benning and his team are planning on using the limited cap space this summer to secure good second contracts for both. I think they are making an educated bet on petey turning down any offer sheet.
I just hope that benning ups his game in UFA signing once our window opens and there’s no reason to think he can’t. The team will be a more desired destination then and Jimbo has surely learned a thing or 2 by now...

No I think it’s Jim. He was after all actually signed by the Canucks .

We the general public have no idea the severity of this incident. It could be nothing or it could be the straw that breaks the camels backs and gets virt shipped off to Ottawa in a package with “the little things”.
It all depends when the Canucks were expecting Jake to report for phase 2. If it was arranged to be a day or 2 after clubbing then he is in big $&!# because that would have nullified any covid testing as it takes a few days after exposure to show up on a test. So there is where a possible issue would lie.
if this didn’t make it to the public and Jake was suppose to report for testing shortly after and then possibly exposed his teammates because of his recklessness.
im sure all players were told by the Canucks to be good boys in the days prior to reporting for phase 2 for this very reason.

Yeah it's really a shame, we could have had Josh Ho-Sang, Sonny Milano or even Nikolai Goldobin!
(Yes I'm being deliberately obtuse but for reals the 2014 draft wasn't exactly a gold mine)
(Except for the Russian Monster Nikita Tryamkin of course - a steal of steals in the 3rd round lol)
Yeah that should really help his conditioning and dedication, not playing for half the season

Jake needs half a season in the press box.
If after that green is happy with his dedication, maturity and fitness then let him back into the line up. If he still hasn't figured it out, cut your losses - The team is passing him by

I voted for LE- at this point, the league and I take sutter at face value And he is battling with gauduette for his roster spot.
LE “could” play in a few different places throughout the lineup and potentially recover some of his market value.
so suttees 19-20 season is less valuable than LEs. To the Canucks

Hutton has peaked, we know what he is now and was overpaid on his last contract. He doesn’t have a future on this team if we want a playoff caliber d. There’s way better options out there at 2mil or less.

Thomas Hickey and Ryan Whitney come to mind.

Not sure if someones's brought this up, but I appreciate how Pettersson is not a one-trick pony. Meaning he's top 5 in goal scoring and top 5 assists. If you look at the U20 comps, many were skewed one way or another. Thus, although the point totals are in the top (Pettersson #2 right now overall), it's balanced (Grabner in the NHL is a good example of skew).
Is Wayne Gretzky a good example as well?

Is anyone watching the game and if so can they PM me the details if available...? Thank you!

I just wanted to vent that I am very disappointed in many aspects of Jake's game but most of all his mental immaturity and work ethic. I love his potential but really want him in the ahl for a year in hopes that he will be challenged for the first time in his life and learn how to persevere.
Before you call me a troll I want to say I've been a canuck fan for 19 years and played 4 years of junior hockey and would like to think I know what I'm talking about.
My experience tells me jake is entitled and lacking that work ethic instinct which many junior stars never learned.

I've seen a variety of opinions on this topic and they all have here place, however;
I have had an involved and deep love for this game and as far as who my team is I'm a Vancouver canucks through and through. I strongly considered giving up watching hockey a few years ago after the instigator rule was implemented and it's implications were so flipping apartment...
If the nhl wants to alienate the minority of fans which happen to be majority Canadians who understand that concussions are an unspoken and unfortunate side effect of what makes the best game on earth what it is then I am done. I'm fine with and I agree that the health of these millionaire is very relevant but for the love of God this sport shouldn't be called hockey anymore, or atleast the hockey I fell involve with.

My opinion of Bo after a few pre season games is that he is losing the battle for any available roster spot. He is underperforming, but at the same time it is early and I believe he can pick it up notch or 3. I would love for him to make the team, but he first has to make the team.
I hope he stops the slow motion toe drags sooner rather than later.
