  1. He probably could have if:

    1) He'd been more patient. And waited to trade in the offseason.

    2) Had he'd let other teams know that he was willing to trade Hodgson for the right price.

Let's face it, Gillis didn't want to deal with Hodgson and his camp. However how much of this is true, we'll probably never know.

I find it interesting that since Hodgson was traded to Buffalo, I've never heard any issues from the GM in Buffalo about him griping about ice time. Despite being a healthy scratch and demoted practically to the 4th line.

Wasn't Hodgson for John Carlson one of the deals that were in place

  2. are you talking about mccann or virtanen because mccann plays in the OHL not the dub.

Talking about Virtanen. I posted about McCann in his thread. Though they are both in similar situations

  3. Much like I said in the McCann thread he will have a crazy good season next year when he is the hit men's go-to guy, I see him potting 60+ goals.

Though he might make the canucks next year, out of all canucks prospect he has the best chance. And you can tell WD and JB are really high on him. Hopefully he works extremely hard this summer.

Much like Horvat I think he can be eased into more minutes. Because unlike a guy like shinkaruk, Virtanen can play on the 4th line. This is because of his physicality and ability to play a 4th line type of game. He'll be able to play that kind of game until he feels comfortable at the NHL level, then he will start potting tons of goals for us

  4. He just needs to fine tune his game. There is no doubt he will be a regular next year. Canucks have a problem now with an abundance of nhl players, forwards and dmen alike.

  5. Why rush him?

Let him ease in Utica. I say a few more years in the minors wouldn't hurt and a couple of short NHL stints as an injury replace. Patience is the key word.

Your right. Detroit has proven that time and time again.
