Yeah, Ben “Both Ends” Kuzma knows a lot about these things. Unlike Hughes, it’s not just an occasional and unfortunate illness for him, but rather a lifelong affliction where “Benny Both Ends” splatters his verbal diarrhea and vomitous commentaries all over various sports media in this city.
It's almost like a race to see who in the media can ask the most dumbass question(s)

I can't imagine having it play out any better than it did. I still can't believe we got him. Every once in a while I'll be doing something and out of the blue, "We got Hughes!" pops into my head. And I'll giggle a little.
Amen to that.I'll be waiting for the day when we can draft hughs-son

Walking to school in the winter was not fun, and I grew up b4 that in Northern Ontario. I hated the wind!

I spent 64-65 in Steinbach which was grade 9. Got a crapload of cousins still there. Reimers and Barkmans plus the usual other mennonite names. Not sure if I have any relatives in Altona unless they're further removed.

In 5 years we might look back and be calling this Bennings best draft ever Some serious talent and upside here.

I can’t see this kid taking runs at anyone in the NHL at his current stature.
And he won't this stature when he is in the NHL

Well usually the size of their parents gives a good indication of what size he'll be when he's fully matured. I kind of doubt John Madden was 190 when he was drafted.
40 pounds is not that much to put on when we're talking about at least 3 years of college, and developing physically.
People put too much emphasis on the size of these 18 year olds. Playing style is alot more important to me right now, the size and strength will come later. From all indications he plays alot like his dad, maybe even more tenacious, and his dad did alright for his size.
I see so many people propose that we should draft all these big players. What good is size if they don't even know how to use it? We've seen lots of big guys come through this organization that are big yet play a small mans game. I'd take a smaller guy that plays bigger than he is any day.
Jim Sandlak comes to mind

I know people there, good people. You couldn't get a more Mennonite sounding name if you tried.
My great Grandfather has a good mennonite name as well and was mayor of Steinbach between 1884 and 1912 with a 3 year break in there somewhere.

If he makes the team out of training camp, or is right on the bubble, he will probably sign. But I would rather he go back to school, play with his brother, make me scared $&!#less during the world juniors, and get stronger.
Time for him to get on the dinging the hell out of the garage door program. SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS! When Keslar came in he didn't have a shot. Then he did. When asked what happened, he said something along the lines of " I took 600 shots a day". Do that, or a reasonable facsimile.
Oh, and work on your skating and speed. Because the only thing more ridiculous than giving this kid a good shot would be to make him EVEN FASTER. LOL!
If he goes to training camp he loses his college eligibility, no?

Depends what you mean by height. DiPietro is only 6'0". Not huge when a lot of goalies are 6'3" to 6'5"
All that matters is stopping the puck.

Filling out the depth with someone who'll be a very good role player for us. He doesn't play small.
And he's got room on that frame for a few pounds. Might end up playing at 180-190

Could be our future 3rd line center.
