  1. Was jogging, and the thought on solving the Canuck's problems just hit me. What if the special teams do exactly opposite of what they are doing now? Instead of collapsing in a box on the PK how about pressuring the point. Instead of passing back and forth , how about shooting first and try for rebounds. Do the exact opposite. In theory should get opposite results. hmmm... just a thought; it can't be worse.
  2. I normally don't post, but enough is enough. The coaching staff has to go. They have lost the team. The system is so stale, every good team has figured us out. Penalty kill is atrocious , 4 guys stand in a square? Don't believe me? Rewind the tapes. They are basically pilons. No pressure at all. Won't matter who you put out there. Their attacking playbook is so stale, hell even I could even write the playbook. Play 1. Everyone stand at the offensive blue line and drop pass to the last guy to rush it into the o zone Play 2. Dump puck in and chase. Don't care if the other team has mobile defense or not. Play 3. My favorite the bloody Hail Mary lob/ blind cross diagonal pass and hope it goes right. Don't believe me? Rewind the tapes. Not gonna continue with the powerplay, you get the idea. There is something very very wrong with our system and it reflects in the standings. angry angry.
  3. It's our system. Teams have figured out our playbook. How many of teams see the dump and chase strategy? Or how about the cross pass to the Offence Dman (Hughes)? Green has to change the system but I don't see it. The new alignment where we play our Canadian brethren has it setup like playoff hockey where we play the divisional teams so many times, team figured us out. Plain and simple. They need to change the system or the results will be like this night after night. Also doesn't hurt not to take so many dumb penalties. Its killing us.
  4. Disappointing game. Demko played lights out. Can't win playing like that. Better luck next year.
  5. I was pretty upset;I went downstairs came back up score was suddenly 3-3. I could smell the panic in the air. I think partly it is the coach failing to recognize the panic. TG cannot use the same system all the time especially if your goalie is not Markstrom in net. They gave the blue jackets all sorts of time to setup the point shot with good looks. It was a matter of time. They should have pressured the point man more or at least block the shot. Instead they collapsed into a box structure and allowed all sorts of time and panicked. All said and done , the team's confidence is not there. The older veterans are a big let down. This stretch of the race is for all the marbles, they have to show up when they are most needed. One of the most fustrating loss this season.
  6. We deserve to lose this one. That shorthand goal was weak. After that we never recovered. Coach should behave called time out earlier.
  7. I don't like this trade,it's smells of desperation. Considering the Cap circumstances in TB, Benning should have come out on top and not pay have to pay fair value. I believe, he paid too heavy a price. If Canucks make the the playoffs because of adding JT Miller, then fine. But no need to give up a 3rd round pick. Overpaid. But if we don't make the playoffs, or Miller does not live up to expectation then we are in big trouble. The first round draft pick in 2021 would be very valuable.
  8. I would say Edler is considered a top 4D. We have already lost Hamuis for nothing. If this pattern continues, the D core will never improve. How many draft picks can be considered NHL Top 4 D calibre . How much longer to repair/improve the back end? Is it time to hit the panic button? Would any of the Free Agents left be better the Edler? ( found out that Erik Karlsson signed with SJ). Tough to be in JB shoes. Screwed it up and gave his position of strength away when he didn't try to sign Alex Edler earlier. Please don't let him walk away for nothing.
