Kassian starting to show what he is capable of - Happy the guy has turned his life around and is taking advantage of his opportunity. Feel good story - too bad it wasn't with us!

Yep I was thinking the same guys - Virtanen has more skill and less fighting ability - Just wish we could have had them both - Kass's speed is crazy and he was possessed - although I think he was getting away with some charges tbh - Maroon and Lucic are probably helping him hone his game as a PW as well

@Rob_Zepp I don't think it is so much giving up on Virtanen as it is being disappointed in his progression and tempering expectations. If Benning flipped Virtanen for a 2nd round pick in the offseason I am pretty certain 99%+ of CDC would lose their minds.

Yes but in typical canuck fan response - no one understands the value of patience. To me Jake was just immature and around some bad influences at home (buddies pumping his tires making him feel like he was a celeb), and he needs(ed) to learn what it takes to be a pro long term in this league. Having heard/read how much he's improved his fitness (pictures say alot!) his effort, his 200ft game, this is all I wanted to hear. He need to take his trajectory from flat line/regression to progression and he has. Canucks fans need to learn players take different paths to success and draft position means nothing in terms of that process. Another year in the AHL and this kid is going to come back hungry, in great shape, and well prepared for his role and more mature. I wanted Ehlers drafted but now seeing Jake starting to apply himself I am quite happy we have him. He'll be a terrific piece of the puzzle - IN TIME - something many need to get their head around.
