Very good point. Couldn't imagine the pain if this happened in the middle of a playoff run. Would be gut wrenching. Silver lining to missing the playoffs this year.

My heart goes out to Brock Boeser and the Boeser family. I have lost a close family member recently so this really hits close to home and hope they can deal with it peacefully especially with Brock being such a class act since he's been in Vancouver. Noone deserves to lose their father at such a young age.

It was 50/50 if kicks were called back regularly. The problem is, they aren't. The NHL hasn't called back kicking motions in about 10 years. The last time I remember one being called back was Canucks vs Flames in like 2013 or something like that it was that long ago.

This is the type of officiating that makes you less of an NHL hockey fan. Absolutely disgusting call by the situation room

I’m not furious because I want Calgary to win. I’m furious because the entire precedent the NHL has set before where they have not called a single goal off a skate has been called back has been completely shattered screwing NHL fans out of having a consistency to abide by

How? It’s so much easier in 99% of situations to use your stick. It’s not like players are wanting to use their skates in the first place

I agree. I had assumed in the situation rule they had an unwritten rule saying that all goals off the skate should be counted regardless of motion and high sticks won't be called back unless 100% obvious because that precedent has been used for 10 years and I think that is fine. But this game proves that wrong. Terrible call and the league should review the removal of that rule this offseason because of that call.

WTF IS THAT CALL???? The precedent of the last 10 years has been set. THEY HAVE NOT CALLED A GOAL BACK FOR A KICKING MOTION IN ALMOST 10 years. There have been terribly obvious kicks that have not been called back. This is the worst freaking call I've seen in a long time.

While Tkpuke, Lucic, and Zadorov are POS, Nurse, Smith, and a good handful of the soilers roster are completely classless divers who deserve to never win anything with their flat out cheating
