It’s really nothing like that…in a way, it’s sort of the opposite.

Absolutely nobody was saying we should have picked Glass after Pettersson’s D+1 season. It was legendary, and a strong indication that he might be a special player. It wasn’t a sure thing yet, but the evidence we had was quite exciting.

In contrast, Lekkerimaki’s D+1 season was flat-out terrible. Sure, there are reasons for it (health, primarily), he’s still very young, and we all hope the trajectory he had in the playoffs will continue. But most of the indications we have so far are not very good.

It’s nice that you believe in the player and want to be optimistic. But I don’t see a logical reason to be mentioning him alongside Pettersson.

Nah, right after the draft Pettersson had a quiet showing at the summer showcase while Glass looked excellent in Preseason. People were freaking out. Even dim jim was angry at his own scouts after glass put up a multi point game against us in preseason. Pettersson had a slow start in the SHL but kept on getting better and better as the season went on similar to Lekk in his league. Both Pettersson and Lekkerimaki dominated in the playoffs in their D+1. Most of the indications we have is that when he is healthy he is absolutely incredible. SHL production at 17, U18’s, Allsvenskan playoffs. Even in the regular season where he was battling illness, his underlying numbers were some of the best on the team.

This isn’t me being optimistic, I just see things for what they are. Look through my post history, I bashed Benning endlessly and how terrible he was while everyone was blindly supporting him.

Lol just because you couldn't stop comparing Kemell and Lekkerimaki doesn't mean anyone else was. But you were obsessed. Every conversation about Lekkerimaki you had to make about Kemell. It was boring by the time of the draft, it's insufferable by now. Kulich, Snuggerud, Ohgren, Yurov, all great prospects. I don't know why you insist on forcing everyone to talk about the prospect you want to talk about, especially when it was over more than a year ago.

Don't try to make it sound like I'm some Kemell-hater either. He's a fine prospect. But you should take it to the Joakim Kemell thread, maybe on a Nashville Predator forum.

Reminds me of the same people bringing up Cody Glass and how we should have picked him over Pettersson. Lekkerimaki is a special prospect and we were lucky to get him where we did. Now that he’s fully healthy he looks amazing and im expecting a massive year out of him.

    Kuzmenko - Pettersson - Lekkerimaki

has the potential to be one of the most skilled lines in hockey.

  3. We just got the best dman in the draft. Had him 5th overall. He is a Heiskanen/Makar hybrid. If his offense pops next year we have another Franchise defender to go along Quinn Hughes.

Lekkerimaki/Pettersson/Willander/Brzustewiczis just an outsanding haul to get where we got them. Had Lekkerimaki 8th overall last year and we got him at 15.

Such a far cry from the dim jim days. We have very good management now. One more year drafting 8th-12th and this team will take off the following year. Hopefully we can grab Sam dickenson next draft.

    Kuzmenko - Pettersson - Lekkerimaki

    Podkolzin - Miller - Boeser

    Hoglander - Raty - Mikheyev

    Joshua - Aman - Klimovich

    Hughes - Willander

    Dickenson - Hronek

    Pettersson - Brzustewicz

    Demko

    Silovs

  4. 2024 has hometown kid and superfan of the Canucks Macklin Celebrini. Next year should be our last tank year while most of the bad money comes off the books.

    Kuzmenko - Pettersson - Lekkerimaki

    Hoglander - Celebrini - Mikheyev

    Podkolzin - Raty - Klimovich

  5. Tom Willander is the best dman of this class. The fact he’ll likely be available at 11 is crazy. He has to be the pick. Perfect partner for Quinn Hughes as well. Need to trade Miller for Penguins 1st which is 14th overall. Would grab Simashev there.

    Hughes - Willander

    Simashev - Hronek

    Pettersson - Hirose
