WTF was that at the end there... 32 seconds to go and you run the ball on 1st and what a little over 10 from the endzone?... Then 16 seconds left after that they sit around and let the clock run down to 2 seconds before calling a TO... Who is running this shitshow. Had ample time to have 2 shots at the endzone. This offense is just terrible.

Comfortable with Lack absolutely just as long as they split the time 60-40 this year and not the 15+ whatever it was straight games Torts pulled. Markstrom not really comfortable with him but he has so much potential do you want to give up on him after like 2 games? with us.. i dno tough call. Id be fine with the duo heading into the season for the reason only being im perfectly fine with running with the young guys and whatever happens happens.

Could drafting Demko make Markstrom expendable or is it still too early to determine that?
Im pretty sure Markstrom will have to go through waivers if he doesn't make the team with us this year.... So if we do pickup anyone to back up Lack/ or start Markstrom will potentially be gone for nothing.

Seems to go against the reports we've heard of Ferraro saying management feels this team is 3-5 years away from being competitive. I sure hope this report is bull... makes zero sense and only delays the inevitable. Id rather draft low for a few years and pick up some good prospects then go after these guys and remain average.

this is another misconception, getting into a trade means you're going to be making 100K a year. not the case
not all tradespeople get $50+ an hour, and the ones that do have usually been doing it for a long time
I work in new home development/ residential and i can say in this sector no one makes 100k+ a year, only Superintendents and management. Wages are shit and all developers care about is getting the job done the cheapest possible way. In the interior or in heavy construction i could see large wages but for the majority that is not the case unless your raking in the OT pay and alot of companies don't pay OT.

I hope the've taken their time with this and this isn't some quick jump to a decision. Id be Okay with Nicholson or Linden in a President role and quite cautious if they promoted Linden straight to GM, Naslund for that fact also. Id rather a guy have some actual experience, in Lindens case.. If you want to bring him into the organization why not as an assistant and have him work his way up.
I really want to see some new blood in here and not become the Oilers old boys club.
Its hard to know what is true and whats not but Gillis pretty much making an ultimatum to the Aqualini's makes me really wonder who was running the show. We'll probably never know but there were very vocal reports that Torts hiring was strongly pushed by Aquaman and it certainly seems to be the case. Makes you wonder who really is the problem here.

DID NOT EXPECT THAT!.. wow. I guess Markstrom's value has really dropped the past year or so.. i thought he was the best goalie not in the NHL or so called. Interesting times ahead.
As for who won or not don't really care, Im happy for Luongo that he gets to go where he wanted and happy this whole saga is finished.

Wow shocking Lack would start.. does this coaching staff and management just like starting controversies. I get it he's played well the last couple games but cmon just terrible optics and this is coming from a guy who would gladly see Luongo move on from here. I don't see 1 positive to come from this move if true. Last i checked Luongo was still the starting goalie on this team, playing the so called hot hand is nothing but complete hogwash from them.

It very well could be Price, but I don't think they've made their final decision yet.
Price being interviewed by RDS said that he was told he's the guy going forward by Babcock..

While that does ensure the team has confidence in both goalies, it also rewards Price for being shaky in the first game. Unless of course they go back to Lu for the next game, but I doubt that happens.
Price has been told he's the guy here on out. tough for Luo but i think its the right decision we shall find out.

Im a little disturbed hearing this altho its typical Gillis to tow the company line. I don't want to become the next team that hangs on to their past success for far too long ala Calgary. Interesting times ahead for sure.

Think this one could get ugly.. if not in the scoresheet on the ice definately. Bruins team out for revenge from last game and our team reeling from 4 consecutive losses and a coach calling for changes to personal id say look out if this one gets out of hand on the score sheet.

We cant trade away a player that has a good two way game. If we need to trade to get younger it should be the Sedins because their production is just going to keep going down and we could use some young guns.
If management feels this team is another 3-4 years away from competing for a cup absolutely you go and move him. Love him as a player and i really couldn't imagine him on another team but if they are serious about getting younger and changing this core he will bring the best return back and tbh i don't see this team competing for a cup for at least that long.

So who gets the start in net?.. considering lack played last game i would say Luo but then again we have boston the next day.

I would be shocked to see Gillis completely dismantle this team. A retool to me is trading 2-3 core piecies at the most.
As for whether you believe this is speculation on Lebrun's part or not he is a pretty legit source and Mckenzie and others have shared the same sentiment. I would not be surprised if MG let this leak to let other teams know his roster is available and to test the waters. Important to note they said anyone is available for the "right price".
I can see 1 of Bieksa, Edler, or Garrison being moved and a Kesler or Burrows (not this year), Hansen being moved up front.

Perhaps we should wait till we see more of the season and how the Sedins play under Torts before we make harsh judgements and trade away all our players. I felt regardless of the outcome of the game played last night that the Sedins actually seemed to play better then they did last year. Shrugs. Call me for being crazy and optumistic but I think that if they actually have the right guidance and really want it they might actually surprize some people.
Funny reading back on these post from months ago.. I agree this is what should of happened, Its unfortunate Gillis rushed out to sign them as quick as he did. 1 month into the new season was far to quick to be handing out 4 year contracts for these guys.
Not that it really matters much, if a retool happens like Lebrun and Mckenzie advertised cap space is not going to be a real issue.

Drouin, the 3rd overall pick in a draft who has never suited up for a single NHL game and was on the same team and line as one of the most highly touted prospects since Crosby and could just as easily bust as boom (in fact is more likely to bust really when held up to the standards people expect from him in the NHL now)
Is worth more than a Selke winning, 40 goal scoring premiere shut down D man 1st line winger or 2nd line Center?
So this is where the CDC is at huh.
I am guessing That Gillis wouldn't trade Horvat for Toews straight up then either....
Former 40 goal scorer.... Its a safe bet he will never duplicate that season and those totals again. Kesler would not fetch Drouin.
