  1. I just got down from Burke mtn and there was a ton up there, not so much in Coq/Poco lower, and it's snowing heavily in South Poco.
  2. Wow, you guys complain way too much. It's really just highly viscous water. It's not that hard to deal with.
  3. To whomever complained about not shovelling: compacted snow has more traction than just partially shovelled snow.
  4. Wow, really? How about the ACCURATE term is "climate change". It involves more precipitation, colder winters, hotter summers. IE More extremes. More violent weather. I really hope you were being sarcastic.
  5. It's snowing here in poco. Not heavily but moderately.
  6. Hah, it's sunny with clouds here in Poco. Temp is 0 outside my house.
  7. I measured it in South PoCo yesterday, we have 19 inches. 48 cm. Some places had up to 20 cm more, from what I hear. Nevertheless, I'm loving it- I went snowshoeing around poco yesterday. It was pretty awesome.
  8. Uh... walk. My firefly gets around just fine. I'm sure you can walk. Too tough? Well, don't complain.
  9. Lol. I drive a firefly and I get around no problem. It's not the car, it's the driver (or lack thereof) and how they drive. My firefly was driving unplowed streets and parking lots at 1 oclock last night. It was fine. Just learn how to drive.
  10. The top one is similar to the original, and I just liked the effect I put on the second one. HURRAH FOR COLD! It's spectacular! I love it. (This was the sunset this afternoon, over the Fraser river.)
  11. I am loving this cold. It's so beautiful. Point in case, or perhaps case in point: I took this on Sunday.
  12. You CAN'T get sick because of cold, unless we're talking hypothermia. Which you're not. Cold may slightly lower the effectiveness of your immune system. I'm pretty sure people are healthier in cold climates, which are not conducive to bacteria.
  13. Good selectiveness. It certainly has nothing to do with the mass of arctic air, does it? The people on this board are kind of ridiculous. I knew this already, but what's with all the complaining? It's barely cold at all. I was hiking today on Eagle Ridge, it was about -15 where I was and it was beautiful, crisp, and refreshing. I wish we had more of this weather.
  14. Because hiking is much more fun, and you can go UP on your own path, you don't need a chairlift or gondola.
  15. Haha that would be terrifying... I hope we don't get too much snow in the mountains this year. Last year we had a 131% snowpack compared to the usual, which = late melt, which = bad bugs all summer long, and a reduced summer hiking season. I was not happy.
  16. Where'd you go hiking to? I've been itching to go hiking but with finals and whatnot I haven't had time.
  17. Mercy. Why are they going to cap? Douglas is much closer, and pretty much equivalent in pricing.
  18. Thanks for the blog, Mr. Kesler (and the awesome play this season)
  19. Understand the term climate change? Cause that's what we're experiencing right now. More extreme weather. No such thing as global warming. It's snowing hard but only sticking to grass and dirt in south poco.
  20. Dude driving in this is fricken amazing, i love it. I was just out driving around for an hour, working on my snow control and practicing drifting. It was great.
  21. No kidding, I drove into Burnaby from Poco today, people seriously don't know how to drive in good conditions, but in snow it's like being surrounded by clowns with no legs riding unicycles. It's UGLY. Conversely, I trained myself in how to drive in snow, and I make it a point to take my (Pos) firefly out in the snow and drift around and see how it handles. It's very useful.
  22. A -8 windchill isn't really that much. Once you get down to -20, -30, then you really feel it. I get it sometimes when I go hiking.
  23. it is sunny but snowing? in poco
