  1. So I was just on HF boards and came across this nugget from a fan of another team describing one of their young players. " this is the player that he is, a 45-50 point PWF who has elite speed, elite strength, a very good shot, very physical at times, some of the worst decision making in the NHL and not much consistency, he's still a 1st line player in this league. Thats very similar to the player that Lucic is, and he's considered a first line player in the NHL on a 6M cap hit. He's also very clutch in the playoffs " Remind you of anyone you know? This was in reference to Chris Kreider
  2. This was more about Vrbata than Burrows. It would never happen but if you put both Burrows and Vrbata in the minors like he was suggesting players notice this. Sure they can sign a contract but if you see the GM is someone who won't honour it, 10 times out of 10 you'll sign elsewhere.
  3. Say goodbye to the odds any respectable free agent signs with Vancouver again.
  4. I agree, I mean admittedly I was never that much of a Burrows fan, but I can respect what he did for us for that one year. What makes Chicago so succesful? Sure Kane, Toews and Keith, but they recognize when they need to move on. Ladd,Bolland,Byfuglien,Sharp... Sure if there was no cap space they'd all likely still be on that team, and probably go undefeated, but the point is they know how to maximize the return on players. Unless you have players like the Sedins or someone in that stature, there is no need for lifelong Canucks. There just isnt. How the Ryan Kesler situation was handled was the perfect example of exactly how to handle players.Ride them for as long as you can and offer them well wishes and get back what you can. They have a life after hockey, they can move back once it's over. Yes it sounds human, but it's a business. Sedin - Sedin - Lucic Baertschi - Horvat - Hansen Shinkaruk - Sutter - Virtanen Gaunce - McCann - Dorsett Rodin There just isn't enough space for him. Sure don't sign Lucic okay, but not to gift him a roster spot.
  5. Just read 10:00 as 100% for my ohone Not a happy drunk right now ):
  6. Not changing the start time for Carolina V Calgary is one of the dumbest decisions in recent memory.

  7. What's wrong with liking other players on a Canucks site? Maybe not for prospects because you can't predict a 19 year olds future, but some players are simply better than others. I liked Forseberg more than Naslund, Kesler more than Burrows etc.. Doesn't mean I cheer for anyone other than Vancouver
  8. One time I actually want to read the Provies

  9. Would you have him as a better prospect than Demko and McCann? Hell even shinkaruk is only a smidge behind
  10. A great point that Ray Ferraro made yesterday. Watch Jake in his draft year, how didhe score? By running over guys skating around them and picking corners. Theres only one player in the league who can do that in the NHL, that's Ovechkin, maybe Benn. He's going to have to redefine himself.
  11. Next year in Utica and I expect him to be about at about .25 PPG pace in his first year in the minors he might have a good second year in Utica if he ever makes an impact it likely won't be till 22-23. He's been passed on the depth chart of prospects which is unfortunate seeing as it's not all that deep.
  12. Counting down the days till he's no longer a Canuck
  13. He had a bad tournament. Plenty of good players in the league have not even participated in the WJC. It's not the end of the world. However. It's not fair for the Hunter Shinkaruks' and Gaunces' of the world who have done their work in the minors, to view someone who is clearly not ready at 19, to be placed above them on the depth chart, just because he is the local golden boy .
  14. I mean if we are for tanking I guess I could see why they'd bring Jake back up.

  15. I agree he had a hell of a second period, but a complete meltdown in the third. One of his assets is his supposed speed in strenght. He got one last chance to redeem himself, and gout outhustled, and out muscled, along the boards, almost leading to a goal against again.
  16. That's also what being blind to reality means.
  17. Gread period from Jake, hope they keep this line together for the rest of the tournament
  18. Heres to all you who think the "haters" dissapear. Jake's been very good here in the third, made things happen, more engaged, and just about scored. Play like this and there wont be a problem
  19. Ugh Gord Miller had me excited because he said Virtanen, as the player who was doing good work behind the net. Turns out it was actually Marner of all people.
  20. I was about to and then I realized he wasn't screening the goalie. He had a better period, battled hard in front of the net, but then made a bad pass to Marner on the PP, and then cut to the front of the net and lost the puck with 20 seconds left in the period.
