  1. Especially when you think back to the single hand "slashes" that were called repeatedly earlier in the season. Letting them play is one thing but hate it when the blatant stuff isn't called.
  2. Just seems sloppy/scrambly... one of those games where we can do 2 or 3 things right in a row (which sums up our PP)
  3. I was just thinking to myself while watching that it seems like not happy might be the reason he seems off this year (unfortunately since i loved what he brought last year)
  4. I've been really happy with him this year (finally loving the pick). Two things that stand out for me are that he looks like he can handle the physical play and he gets his shots through (something i think will develop into decent offensive numbers).
  5. That's a least 3 by him that period (Edler, Horvat, Hoagie) with no push back whatsoever unfortunately. I bet he hits Demko next.... cause he knows he'll get away with it.
  6. Yep.... although i was referring to the entire season so far. outside of opening night, the Ottawa series, and the win vs Winnipeg (where we looked fantastic) we've seemed slower than the competition. I am optimistic that the team will gel and get their structure figured out now that the schedule eases up a little. Conversely, the team's that are having all of those postponements now are going to tire out and have injury trouble in the 2nd half of the season. Too bad none of those are in our division though.
  7. Agreed... Edler is what he is at this point. It's his lack of footspeed that i notice with him with the gaffs usually coming from others. The whole team seems slower than the competition on most nights, but that could be just poor structure causing us to chase too much.
  8. In other words.... place your bets on who takes the first hooking penalty in the opening shifts.
  9. Two things i've hated so far with respect to the reffing.... the weak one hand 'slashing' calls when a stick gets checked, and the ridiculous amount of waive outs on faceoffs.
  10. And then the following night against the Ducks. That was a sickening sequence for sure. Never seen 2 guys on the same team both get fighting majors while no on the other team does. And one of them was Hansen !
  11. He should've lost it on the refs for not getting a 2 man advantage after Toffoli ran Holtby (especially after the extremely week call on Beagle to put us down 2 men)
  12. And it was him who let Gaudreau walk in on that give and go for his goal.
  13. I agree with that... was my thought's on why we seem a little out of sync so far in general. We'll be formidable once they have time to gel, get in game shape (Hamonic), and get used to each others' voices/tendencies/etc
  14. Just pointing out that the youth alluded to in the previous text doesn't explain the extremely poor PK to start the season (especially when other teams' PP's haven't had alot of practice at this point).
  15. Maybe so but that doesn't explain how poor our PK has been when it's mostly vets on those units.
  16. Yes the rust did show, but that's to be expected with the circumstances surrounding this season opener. Holtby was so calm and solid though in having the D's back. The bolded part above is what really struck me though, as it's something we've been fairly bad at in the past but now brings excitement. Most solid and balanced D corps we've had in a long time along with 2 great starters in net (which will be huge in this condensed season).
