  1. It's ???? sad that so many Canadians don't understand this. We've had football in this country for 100 years and it's the undisputed #1 sport on this continent.

I'm so ???? sick of the Canadian sports scene. Just way too in to ???? hockey, and just NHL hockey at that.

The Americans although I despise their lack of hockey knowledge, are way ahead of us when it comes to being a sports fan as a whole.

During non-lockout years you may as well just rename our sports radio to the "Puck 1040".

Having over 40k will be awsome, in my opinion it's a travesty it's not sold out but I pin much of the blame on the BC Lions themselves. Their ticket pricing is mind boggling and they've completely priced out the casual fan, then they slap blackouts on everyone.

I completely agree with you on the pricing. The upper bowl bleeders should not cost anywhere close to what they're going for. Drop it to $20/ticket and just get them sold and get the house rocking. Sure you'd probably have a couple more ejections on your hands, but BC Place when it's sold out is an absolute fortress (well I guess based on the team's record, new BC Place is quite the fortress even when it only has 30k).

  2. The plot thickens...

STAMPEDERS LB SIMPSON DOUBTFUL FOR WESTERN FINAL VS. LIONS

The Calgary Stampeders could be without their defensive captain in Sunday's Western Final against the B.C. Lions.Middle linebacker Juwan Simpson, who re-aggravated a right ankle injury in the West Semi-Final against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, didn't practice for the third straight day Friday and head coach John Hufnagel said he's doubtful for Sunday's showdown.Should Simpson be considered unfit to play, defensive lineman Deron Mayo will replace him at the position.Simpson is one of the few players on defence that has played all 19 games for the Stampeders and it could be considered a heavy blow for the team if he can't go.This season, Simpson has recorded 82 tackles and two sacks with six special teams tackles.

Coach B just needs to make sure complacency isn't an issue on Sunday and the Leos should be going to Toronto.

  3. Honestly, from a Stamps point of view I'd have gone with Kevin Glenn anyway. Tate is a bit of a head-case and one sack here or one failed drive there would have spelled early disaster for Calgary. Glenn's been through the fire before and he certainly proved himself in Tate's absence this year. That being said, I think the Lions D will get to Glenn anyway.

  4. CFL Award finalists are out:

    MOP

    Jon Cornish (CGY)

    Chad Owens (TOR)

    DEFENSIVE PLAYER

    JC Sherritt (EDM)

    Shea Emry (MTL)

    CANADIAN PLAYER

    Jon Cornish (CGY)

    Shea Emry (MTL)

    SPECIAL TEAMS

    Tim Brown (BC)

    Chris Williams (HAM)

    ROOKIE

    Jabar Westerman (BC)

    Chris Matthews (WPG)

    OFFENSIVE LINEMAN

    Jovan Olafioye (BC)

    Josh Bourke (MTL)

Little surprised Sherritt beat out Bighill for the West Defensive finalist but I can pretty much agree with the rest of it. I think Owens takes MOP and Cornish gets Canadian.

  5. Refs on power trips is very common in footie. As much as Bonjour sucks I feel bad for him getting thrown in there for DeMerit and then somehow committing a penalty by being run over from behind. Great season for the Caps but Robson seriously has to go. Not even his bitching to the refs anymore but the fact that he has such a reputation he won't even get actual calls in his favor and that just sets him off more. There was one in the first half where he was knocked over from behind and called for a foul, somehow.

  6. 3rd and a few with the game on the line, do you:

A ) Hand off and hope you get some good blocking.

B ) Run a quick-out passing play for the yards required

C ) Throw it 20 yards down-field and out of bounds.

  7. Well, at least they're not disguising their attempts to hand the game to the Esks. All 3 close calls of the game go to the home team.

EDIT: I love how the D aren't phased. That ball almost came out before Jyles' knee hit the deck.
