I agree. Raymond shouldn't have a spot in the top six on the Canucks roster. The Canucks need to get a top 6 forward either through trading Luongo, or signing a player (Doan.) Or both. IMO the Canucks need to get rid of Raymond for somebody that can play a 4th line role but is an effective player. If not put Raymond down there to play a checking role. He is a soft player yes, but he has speed. But with how the roster is looking right now, Raymond should not have a top 6 spot. My lineup idea

Try to sign Doan

Trade- Lu to Florida for Versteeg, Bjugstad, 3rd round.

Sign Ellis (1.5/year)

Daniel - Henrik - Doan (If Doan doesn't sign- Booth)

Booth- Kesler- Burrows (Trade for Versteeg fill in LW)

Higgins - Lappierre - Kassian

Raymond - Malhotra - Hansen

Edler - Garrison

Bieksa - Hamhuis

Ballard - Tanev

Schneider

Ellis

I would personally like to see Versteeg, and Doan come to Vancouver.

I think that MG could get something done to get Morrow, and sign Doan. This would give the Canucks that much needed grit up front, while not sacrificing any size and grit in return. Morrow has been shopped around and what is Dallas hurting for- Defense! I know this may sound ridiculous to other people but what about Ballard + a pick? Would that be overpayment for Morrow? If that doesn't work maybe Ballard + a roster player? Or a prospect? I think that MG could get this to work if he got to chatting with Dallas.

Signing Doan would bring that big right handed power forward that would Oh so beautiful on the first line. He's putting up 50+ points with Phoenix, can you imagine the work that would happen with the Sedins? I mean Bitz was scoring with the Sedins. So a player that already can score without two elite players on the line would produce with or without them, and his stats would only improve with Sedins.

Adding two gritty players that play their heart and soul out every night, would bring what the Canucks are lacking. I like it.
