both players edler and kesler. If and when either or both get moved. We need to address our top 6. Maybe a D prospect in one of the deals. but gettting 2 forwards who can play now would be a higher priority imo

that's a st. louis trade i'd actually make, and i'd even think about it without rattie.
we need quality coming back, i dont want quantity or picks we have to wait for to make an impact. Rattie may be ready next year, schwartz is now. If the blues want a Cup, they wouldnt hesitate to make a deal like this. Kesler gives them a great 1-2 punch down the middle. Probably one of the hardest tandems down the middle for teams to face. Both are physical and like to hit. Stewart is for cap reasons, maybe it could be berglund instead?
THink berglund halak/elliot and maybe a pick could get them Miller. Adding Miller and Kesler would really improve their team.

The ''PLus'' would vary with the above players. I wouldnt mind seeing Stepan coming here, good history with torts. Not sure what else we could get.
We wont trade kesler in our division, we didnt move schneids, cant see us help anaheim.
lots of options, with decent returns possible, problem is have we scouted enough to make a big trade like this and known what we would potentially be getting in return?
Could be better to wait till the draft? But if these rumours dont get squashed, its going to be a big distraction to the team, media will be all over it, we just went through it with the goalies dont want this happening again

johansen has been on fire leading up to the olympic break. maybe last summer we could have got him before his breakout.

sounds right, he can play as he did play 4 games at the olympics. If he would just squash the rumours right away this would quiet down, the more time goes without kesler releasing a statement the more it becomes more of a possibility

That seemed a little crazy to me a week ago but now I'm not so sure.
Maybe a slight tweak with Luke out for Morin/Hagg and I could see that being a good idea. Or grab Gothisbehere as well and flip him to Florida in a Lou deal, if we're going all in.
Also like Laughton, McGinn and Couturier so there could be lots of moving pieces possible.
yes definitely an ability to tweak the deal. Think a deal could be made, let them keep couturier, have some interest in hagg or mcginn. Laughton similar to Horvat?

i think if anything edler may get moved by deadline. i would say 30% chance. Doubt Kesler gets moved, earliest i could see that is at the draft.
Hansen is a player that would be sought after by teams, could package him with either of the above to get a solid return.
I hope MG tries to make a move, but i sure as hell hope he doesnt move either for scraps.

You're probably right but they have good centre prospects, Zib and Lazar to name a couple.
Ottawa's D is horrible and have the 3rd worst goals against in the league despite having 2 good goaltenders. Edler and Karlsson playing together for the next decade had to be somewhat enticing, especially considering Edler has such a good contract.
they do have some depth yes. Wonder how far away lazar is, maybe 3rd line C next year? Sure looked good at wjc
