I get that, but with 1 second left and not much in the way of immediate pressure (two defenders near him as well iirc) I would've thought running out the clock would be the easier way to slow the pace.
I'm by no means blaming him for the goal. Its simply unfortunate that what was an odd choice (in my mind) came home to roost so ferociously.

Odd choice for Demko to freeze the puck there. I hate that it cost us.

So... I'm stuck watching the edmonton feed tonight, and I have to say its about 5x better than that garbage we had to put up with last night on the supposed "national" broadcast.

And, again, this team had a run in with a ref once who cried all the way home because he "looked bad". (Which seems to be a theme for some). Then he told his other ref friends and they told two friends.
And, it snowballed.

It could be argued however, that it reflects poorly against the fanbase and adds to the perceived culture of whining that is associated to this team.
