  1. It surprises me how many people are defending LE. I understand we have no control over the situation; but it’s hard to make a compelling argument he provides any value to the team.

You think his 6 million hit doesn’t matter? We’re already eating the luongo cap. 6m player on the fourth line on top of that doesn’t seem like the recipe for success.

LE is nothing but a burden in my eyes.

I think the thing that bothered me the most ever since I can remember was that sure we might lose some games, but seeing our team get physically dominated was hard to see. Seeing our stars get run at (Henrik, Daniel, last year Petey), solely because teams knew we didn't have much pushback was hard to watch. I feel like this year is going to be really exciting not only due to the fact that our stars are a year matured, but also because we now have truculence throughout our lineup to not only survive the season, but hopefully one day flourish in the playoffs. I can't wait for the season to start, and I have a gap year from medical school so I will be watching EVERY game after a long 4 years :towel:

Good timing for the gap in school haha!

There was a quote earlier in the thread from Ferland who said that both himself and Tyler Myers were impressed with Travis Green and that he made the difference compared to other teams....

The culture of the canucks changed a lot in the last year. You could even tell with the media during games. As soon as Pettersson showed up the hate seemed to disappear. It’s hard to exactly say but I’d imagine having him on the team is playing a major role in people wanting to play here.

maybe not, as you could get close to similar production out of Boeser and spend elsewhere like on better defence.

But this feels like a big mistake to me on Winnipeg's part. Yes Laine has been lazy at times, but the kids got an elite scoring talent. You need to hang on to elite if you're lucky enough to draft it.

I couldn’t agree more. He’s generational talent. It would be a massive fumble that they would feel for years.

  5. Rumour is that the 911 lines are jammed with people phoning in asking when the power is going to be back on, reporting theirs is out, and asking silly questions like: should I pour my milk out now?

Could you imagine Vancouver if something that was actually bad happened bahahah! Glad I'm in Abbotsford I'd be on the highway out of town so damn fast.

  6. Goalies have it pretty good actually. They aren't getting stapled to the boards every shift like Defencemen.

It's completely different taking an expected hit into the boards on your feet that you're prepared for. D get injured a lot too. Goalies are always in odd vulnerable positions and getting constantly ran over out of the blue completely unexpected. They are supposed to not get hit.

  7. Yea I have no clue what the injury is, but goalies tend to be the softest of the bunch. If he tore his mcl or something then yea that makes sense. I just wonder why they haven't told us the extent of the injury yet

Well, they don't tend to do that in the NHL playoffs. They just don't share these things. Goalies aren't protected, are vulnerable, and have to be able to move a lot more than normal players.
