  3. Okay @Primal Optimist, I’ve sold off two good producing players for futures, if you can’t catch me now, you should be relegated
  4. Justin Schultz has had his name floated out there to be available, but has a NTC - I’ve contacted the three teams, so if you haven’t been PM’d, you’re not on his list. The likeliness of Schultz being moved is fairly low, but something could transpire. Eric Fehr is available for a 2019 or 2020 5th. Willing to place condition(s) on a deal, PM me if interested. Potential playoff player. Other than that, the Flames are done heading into the deadline, with our two biggest fish off the market in Roman Josi and Wayne Simmonds. We are open to talks, but it’s unlikeky any other player in the organization is shipped out.
  5. IR: Flames place D Marco Scandella on IR https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/hockey/news/sabres-marco-scandella-lands-on-ir/ IR ACTIVATION: Flames activate D Justin Schultz from IR, and place him on the active roster.
  6. Hell of a deal for @D-Money. Curse you for being in my division too.
  7. Hell of a performance last night by Aleksandar Georgiev, on his birthday to boot.
  8. Life isn’t worth living anymore, goodbye FL
  9. Wayne Simmonds is another piece we are looking to move, that has been known for months. I have contacted every team on his LNTC list, for the most part, but if interested, contact me and I can let you know if you're on his list of teams he will waive for. Simmonds could very well be moved out this weekend, perhaps tonight if things align.
  10. HUGE DEAL IN COWTOWN First off we would like to thank @Master Mind // @Art Vandelay for such classy negotiations. Both were a pleasure to deal with, and were willing to move valuable pieces right off the hop instead of lowballing. While we are always looking for the best deal, GM's such as this duo that come into the trade discussion ready to move solid pieces out, will always get my attention and willingness to deal with first. Thanks to @Nail for processing. ---- The Flames are looking towards to future. While even shopping Josi may be a shock to some around the league, considering the core of our team moving forward we felt this was a good deal to make. Our core players, notably Connor McDavid/Bo Horvat/Dylan Larkin/Mika Zibanejad/Pavel Buchnevich/Shayne Gostisbehere are all currently waiting for their IRL teams to rebuild and put the pieces in place for their respective IRL teams to make a serious challenge for the playoffs and Stanley Cup - while we also wait for Henri Jokiharju/Erik Brannstrom/Taylor Raddysh to make the jump to the NHL, all looking very, very impressive. Our organization is at a weird crossroads right now - we are a playoff team that is sitting 12th overall in the league, however, our playoff roster is not strong enough to compete with the other teams around the league that have loaded up. We feel we would be lucky to win a playoff round, let alone make it to the SCF and have to face one of the Metro juggernauts - our playoff roster is just too bleak to compete at this point in time, and it will be that way for a few more years it seems. We were already the 4th youngest team in the league, and we just got substantially younger with this deal. We now are the 3rd youngest team in average age, while also being in a playoff spot/top 12 overall - we like the position we are building towards, and believe we aren't going anywhere anytime soon. It's all about longevity here in Calgary...we want to build a dynasty. ---- While Josi is on a great contract, his value is at an all-time high because of that and we believe that trading him while he has some term left on his contract, we'll receive maximum return. He is a great defenseman however we felt this futures deal was a solid addition to our team all around. We were in serious talks with 5 or so teams, with many others not being able to pay the price, or simply just not having the assets to complete a deal. We were pretty limited as soon as, 1) The price for Josi was set by one team, 2) Teams not having the necessary assets, and 3) Teams not willing to pay three or more assets to acquire Josi. We got quite a few lowblows, and when we analyzed those teams' rosters, felt they didn't have the pieces necessary which was probably a result of the lower offers. When Winnipeg came calling with three good assets to offer, they set a price only one other team came close to matching but went elsewhere for playoff help. The emergence of Jokiharju/Brannstrom/Niku made this trade a lot easier to make...without these three prospects in the system, we definitely do not make this trade. We wish Roman the best moving forward and thank you for his service on the ice, but especially off the ice. ---- Now, for our return, Teuvo was a target from the get-go. His progression as a first line winger has not gone unnoticed here in Calgary. Teuvo aligns perfectly in age with our core, and is peaking along with them all, which was a huge consideration of ours. While Josi is a great defender, we managed to get a top line forward that is four years younger in age, signed to a fair contract. Teuvo is not producing much less in terms of fantasy points this year compared to Josi, and we feel with the progression he has shown, that it can definitely keep getting better as we go along. TT is going to be considered a grizzled veteran among our core players, and he is only 24 years old. ---- K'Andre Miller was also definitely a target of ours. His combination of size, smarts, and impressively smooth skating is what made us lock our eyes on him. Miller is currently having the 4th best season in regards to PPG, among U19 defensemen in the NCAA since 2000, with a 0.92 PPG pace. While there is still a long road ahead of him, this is a huge year for him offensively, and he's not done yet. Tony Granato, head coach of Wisconsin, is head-over-heels for this just turned 19 year old, so much so that he has said Miller has been a great presence as a leader in the dressing room as a freshman and is just amazed by his skillset, especially for his size. We feel like we have a real player on our hands here, and he just adds to our already loaded defensive prospect group. ---- While the 1st round pick will definitely be a late one, it's still a valuable pick to this franchise considering the great scouting we have gotten the last few years. We snagged Brannstrom and Jokiharju in and around the middle of the first round in 2017, both huge pieces to the team moving forward. We're confident in our scouting, and will continue to hoard draft picks. ---- STATE OF THE FRANCHISE Age of Core Roster Players: F Connor McDavid - 22 years old F Dylan Larkin - 22 years old F Bo Horvat - 23 years old F Pavel Buchnevich - 23 years old F Teuvo Teravainen - 24 years old F Jake Guentzel - 24 years old F Mika Zibanejad - 25 years old D Shayne Gostisbehere - 25 years old G Carey Price - 31 years old Notable Prospects In the System: D Henri Jokiharju - 19 years old D Erik Brannstrom - 19 years old D K'Andre Miller - 19 years old F Taylor Raddysh - 20 years old D Sami Niku - 22 years old D Sebastian Aho - 22 years old Notable Future Roster Players: D Vladislav Gavrikov - 23 years old D Joel Persson - 24 years old 2019 Draft Picks: 2019 CGY 1st 2019 WPG 1st 2019 CGY 3rd 2019 WSH 3rd 2019 CGY 4th 2019 CBJ 4th 2019 DAL 4th 2019 DET 4th 2019 STL 4th 2019 CGY 5th
  11. For those teams fighting in the Metro: Roman Josi Wayne Simmonds Highly available
  12. Very happy to get this deal done and out of the way for both parties, to focus on the rest of the season ahead. This deal came together and was signed and sealed in mere minutes. Thanks to Monty again for the quickness of the negotiations. Jake is a huge part of our core going forward and we had to get him locked up for the future. In one of our best trades as a franchise, acquiring Jake for Damon Severson, we have not looked back and have fell in love with Jake's game. He only seems to be improving as the seasons go by, as well. It was essential to retain him for this franchises best interests.
  13. Thanks to Monty for the quick negotiations. We are pleased to add another young, steadily improving defenseman that fits into the age of our core moving forward. Joel Persson went from playing in Sweden's D1 league, to putting up 34pts in 51gp for a 0.67 pts/game in the SHL the following year as a defenseman. He is following up that production this year with 23pts in 39gp. The reason why we are so impressed with him following up that production this year? No Elias Pettersson on the roster. We were more than pleased to see such fast, steady development and were willing to take a flyer on him. Next year could be a real battle to make the Calgary Flames defense next year, as we have an abundance of players that could make the jump: Shayne Gostisbehere Roman Josi Justin Schultz Marco Scandella Henri Jokiharju Erik Brannstrom Sami Niku Matthew Benning Joel Persson Sebastian Aho Vladislav Gavrikov
  14. CALGARY FLAMES TRADE BAIT D - Roman Josi 4M Caphit (For two more seasons) 234 Pool Points Rundown: Top defensemen on a top contender that will go deep into the playoffs for years to come. We all know how good he is, so there doesn't need to be much said. He's 28 and in the prime years of his career, and is producing great numbers. He is signed to arguably the best contract in FL relative to his production output. Not very often a defensemen of this caliber is available for trade, let alone at this caphit and production rate. Return: Top Young NHLers/Top Prospects/Top Draft Picks. Prices vary depending on pieces involved in discussion. -- F - Wayne Simmonds 3.975M Caphit (UFA) 187 Pool Points Rundown: Will likely be traded IRL to a contender, but even if not, is still one of the more valuable wingers under FL's scoring system. Has shown he can be a perennial 50-60 point winger who racks up PIMs as well. Would be a huge add to a playoff team, or bubble team looking to give their lineup a jolt. Has a LNTC, so if interested, PM me and I can let you know if you are on his list. Return: Young NHLers/Prospects/Draft Picks. Prices vary depending on pieces involved in discussion. -- D - Justin Schultz 6M Caphit (For four more seasons) 23 Pool Points (Hurt) Rundown: Was off to a good start before getting hurt. Will be back on the ice soon, taking that next step of recovery from his injury. Has rejuvenated his career in Pittsburgh, who is looking like they could play a few playoff rounds this spring. Could retain money if needed. Return: Average Prospects/Draft Picks. Prices vary depending on pieces involved in discussion. -- D - Marco Scandella 4M Caphit (For three more seasons) 86 Pool Points Rundown: On a team in the hunt for the playoffs. Decent defensemen. Return: Draft Pick(s) -- F - Eric Fehr 0.975K (UFA) 27 Pool Points Rundown: On a potential playoff team. Cheap depth. Return: Late draft pick -- F - Drake Caggiula 1.2M (RFA) 90 Pool Points Rundown: Cheap depth forward who can reach up to 20 points a season. Not expecting much for a return. Return: Draft Pick
  15. And somehow Erik Gudbranson is 50x worse than him. Honestly impressed at how bad Gudbranson is.
  16. Vegas needs to wake up and recall Brannstrom.
  17. Open to discussing a deal revolved around Roman Josi. On a sweetheart contract for another 2.5 years for 4M per. Open to the return, but mostly looking towards prospects/young NHL'ers. Other notables OTB: Wayne Simmonds Justin Schultz Marco Scandella
