Yeah I picked him. Only player in NHL history to captain TWO teams to the Stanley Cup Championship. You know who I'm talking about. I won't even mention his name...
Damn!!

This might be the most questionable signing for cap hit vs production this off season, but he's under wraps and should bring something worth watching to the team by all accounts
I'll leave my actual opinion out of it all until I see him play a full season or so because I don't know enough about him to really complain or celebrate this.
This might be the most mature viewpoint CDC has ever had. Cheers, mate!

Meh, the nhl needs more characters. It’s actually kinda funny.

It’s annoying with a meddlesome owner for sure, unfortunately it’s 100% their right as the owner of the club to do whatever they please. Aquaman could even make himself starting goaltender if he wanted haha
Yep, totally true. It’s their money. It’s definitely frustrating.....on the other hand I’ve always said if I won the lottery I’d try and by the Canucks and I’d definitely be on the team until some fan seriously beats me down.

Nahh, read it as interpretive..may mean whatever you'd like it to mean.
Essentially the criticisms which have piled up(often on other sites & platforms) have not affected ownership's perception of JB's performance. Fortunately the key people here appear to be on the same page.
Fair enough

In giving JB the authority(buyouts, contracts, etc...) they are being wise. He has drafted them a nucleus which enables a sustainable winner.
The missteps are temporary blips & mostly cosmetic. Glad the ownership can distinguish between the bleating media & haterz insignificant poison, with the lasting building blocks that JB has acquired.
Can u go into detail a bit on your last paragraph so people can understand?

If true, looks like lesson learned. They paid the buyouts and will leave hockey ops to the ppl they hired
Hey, 100%. It looks entirely like that...at least from bennings part. I’m on board...not that I’ve ever jumped off the bandwagon but this club has done a major overhaul here. I think it’s fair for the haters and the lovers to kind of reset here, move forward and hold off judgment for at least the off season of next year.

I agree with the OP. As for the accusations of ownership meddling- pics or it didn't happen. Seriously. It's just hearsay without actual proof. I also appreciate FA's loyalty to Benning and not making a knee jerk reaction to certain moronic members of this fan base. I'm hoping their patience and dedication is rewarded with a Cup soon.
Pretty sure there has been numerous people around the league confirm their meddling.

Aqulini's reputation as a spender has never been in doubt. That is the last thing some fans have issue with him over.
This. It’s the interference in the actual hockey operations decisions that piss people and management off. It’s never been about their will to spend or win.

Agreed. He had that one good game last year. He is too much of a passenger to get anything substantial.
So ignorant of you. You fit in well here

If it involves Trent Frederic I’d be all over this

If he was apart of those sexual allegations in Chicago, then good riddance.
If you were part of those sexual allegations in Vancouver, then good riddance. Does that sound dumb to you? Because you sound dumb to us.

For those who think we should of waited out the final year on Beagle, Roussel and eriksson to sign a top free agent. The more I look at this list the more I’m loving this trade now. Lots of older guys who are past their prime. I’m sure this played into Bennings plans to pull the trigger now.

Yeah it seems like they are hoping that and taking a huge chance. Could be another player taken late that turns into a steal or it could turn out that he never makes it. I personally like the gamble at this point with no first rounders the past two
drafts.

Hey guys
So I’m considering getting the Canucks road white jersey, since I already have a blue one. I’ve heard negative things about owning a white jersey, that their propensity to get dirty easily is a big deterrent for many. I happen to like the white jersey a lot & I still wish the home team wore white like they did pre-2003.
What do you guys think? Too risky or good idea?
I don’t get why they haven’t switched back to white at home. It gets so tiresome of constantly seeing blue vs white every game at home. I want to see the visiting teams different colours each home game. I seem to recall bettman saying they were only going to do the darks at home for one year. I wonder why they never switched back?
As for getting a white jersey....do it. I think it looks great and as far as it getting dirty, I’ve hever really had a big problem with my white ones. You can always get it clean anyways. I feel we need more white jerseys represented at the games and out in public.

He’s one player I’ve wanted the Canucks to trade for. Would be a nice bottom six tough guy

Huggy Bear is a character from Starsky and Hutch. Don’t know why Sutter called Quinn that name though.
Apparently one day Quinn showed up wearing a shirt with a little bear logo on the breast...kinda like those alligator logos from the old Lacoste shirts I think. The players made fun of him and started calling him huggy bear after that.
