  1. Thomas' comments:

“It looked like (Florida genera manager Dale Tallon) went kicking some tires and found one that needed to be pumped,” Thomas joked. “It’ll be interesting. I don’t know how things are going to work out assuming I stay in Florida, it will be interesting. I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to be fun.”

    Luongo's comments:

And on another note me and Tiny Tim are gonna rip it up the rest of the year!!!!!!! #dreamteam

  2. The deal was done prior to the HC. It was pretty much close during the olympic break, thats why luongo didn't play another game with canucks, incase he got injured and the deal would fall through

On the contrary, reports coming in that Tallon didn't start talk till MONDAY, don't know how reliable Ziemer is as a source. So Heritage Classic was the tipping point.

Tallon says deal came together quickly. No recent discussions until Monday afternoon. Confirms #Canucks picking up 15 per cent of salary

  3. brain lawton via his twitter account said that there may be a three way deal in the works for kesler going to chicago.

Really ... Chicago? I'm kind of surprise how players can drop the hate so quickly especially in this case where Kes has to OK or waive the NTC. Listening to 1040 AM this morning and was kind of surprised that he'd be open to going to Rangers and play under AV. Maybe now he knows how good he had it before?

  4. Repost from another thread, more appropriate here:

Imagine when Torts came back from his suspension for the Calgary locker room incident, Gillis says, "Before your suspenstion, we were 2-5-2 in Jan, Sully went 2-3, I want to give Sully another couple of chances see how he does as Acting Head Coach, come and watch the next game in the box with me."

Do you think Torts would be a professional about it?

  5. I want Torts to be making these decisions honestly, and not worried about making the fans butthurt because his choices aren't popular. He's a coach, not a goddamn politician.

Except you have to win the majority of the rest of the game with a locker room intact. You are not just trying to win the Heritage Classic. In other words, you need Luongo to be on his game for the home stretch ... mentally and with confidence. Now you've poisoned the morale of the team.

  6. "From Mike Gillis right on down through our team we need to keep believing, we're still in the middle of it." - Torts

Now the coach is telling the GM how to think? A bit pompous.

If it was Torts decision alone, you've got to think that Gillis is put in a bad place cuz he has to deal with an unhappy Luongo.

And I think Torts really poisoned the locker room.

  7. Forget the trade deadline...Gillis and Aquilini should figure out where they're gonna find $1000 to buy a server that actually works for CDC....the performance on this board is a crazy bad joke...

I think Gillis and Aqua are actually spamming CDC with bots to tie up the board so we can't express our frustration fast enough.

  8. If this is Torts decision and he made it alone (without input from MG)... I've got to think that Gillis is not happy cuz Torts put him in a hard place ... serious tension between MG and Luongo relationship.

UNLESS of course, MG is working on a deal for Luongo, then MG directed Torts to play Lack to ensure no injury would ruin any pending deal.

Let's see how this saga turns out. Maybe a reporter can ask Kesler what HE thinks.

  9. What a dumb fracking decision this would be. Create more goalie drama. It's not like Luongo is a liability in net, he gives you jut as much chance at a win as Lack. This stupid organization picks the game they've been hyping all year to start the backup over the Luongo. What a moronic thing to do. Unbelievable...

Hard to win when no forwards are scoring, agree, both Lack and Luongo are about as good but you got to respect your #1 on an occasion like this. Torts is poisoning the locker room again.
