  1. Interesting player to have in the system.

I believe there's more to his game than his stats show, maybe not offensively, but there seems to be some potential there for a good third liner with a bit of chippiness to his game. He's not a tall dude, but looking at his weight he is pretty stocky.

That goal scorer is not Guddy’s check.  That’s Bo’s Check.

Yeah, I don't know why people are blaming Gudbranson alone for this play happening. There are plenty of other places to point to him being the worst player on the ice, but this isn't one of them. This is the entire defense having a meltdown.

First, the biggest issue is Edler is chasing the play and being way out of position by the time the puck carrier gains possession in the corner. He's been good at times this season, but this really illustrated his lack of mobility. He sort of just ends up drifting in no-mans-land, accomplishing absolutely nothing.

Then Gudbranson bit on the play, clearly trying to cover for the fact that Edler was two and a half steps behind the play. The only problem is, he lacked the awareness to see the puck being distributed, so he also ended up putting himself out of position entirely. Not a good play, and a clear lack of communication between himself and Edler.

Horvat got caught watching the play. Failed to read the defensive breakdown and didn't key on the goalscorer like he should've.

Boeser is also just sort of floating, though he didn't contribute negatively to the goal.

Goldobin is the only player on his check, which...if Goldobin is your only player being defensively responsible, you've got an issue.

    Just really bad all around.

Damn, nice shots on goal stat for Juolevi. I've actually really liked how he's played.

Apparently Pettersson is playing with the flu (though, I don't remember where I heard this so it could be inaccurate), but he's still producing which is nice.

It's fun to have guys in the WJHC.

New Years kinda bums me out.

In November and December everyone (lots of people) is really excited about the holidays, giving gifts, the dinners, seeing friends and family, ect. Then after New Years it's back to work/school, people are stressed about the money they just spent, you don't get to see friends and family as much as you'd like too again, just...Real life stuff.

Obviously you can't mess around 12 months out of the year, but when that "magic" is gone on January 1st. It's a little depressing.

I get this pretty bad too. It's great until the minute after the countdown, cheering, and such. Then you realize the holiday season is over, and it's just going to be months and months of the same old every day until the next December.

Don't get me wrong, the holidays are exhausting and I'm usually happy they're over to some degree. But at the same time, I like the feeling of togetherness and it feels pretty lonely for a while when everyone stops getting together every couple of days.

  5. Confession: I absolutely despise the New Year's Resolution crowd at the gym. I understand that people want to start healthy lifestyles, which is great! But, you can start literally any time of the year. You don't have to wait for new years day to start coming to the gym. It crowds everything, people use equipement incorrectly and damage it, and 90% of them no longer come to the gym by Valentine's day. It's just really annoying.

I just want to lift in peace every like I do the rest of the year every day. :(

    where these dudes from

grown man wearing a pikachu shirt tho, respect

Nottingham. They're a weird group. It's like electronic punk, but the vocals definitely have a lot of hip-hop influence. They tend to make very politically rooted music with that amazing bleakness that only the English can muster up.

^This is pretty "out there" for hip-hop too, but Tricky's been at it doing his trip-hop thing for years. Love how spooky the song is.

I work out at home. I go on the treadmill and do curl-ups. I'm really out of ideas aside from maybe professional help, but I'm not going to be able to just make time out of nowhere, nor do I want to pay for it either :/

Treat it like a death and allow yourself to grieve. Loss of a relationship can be an incredibly jarring thing. I was in a very good relationship last year, and it ended kind of suddenly (mutually, so slightly easier than what you're going through I'll admit) and it took me several months to recover fully. I poured my heart and energy into the things I like to do, even though at the time they didn't interest me even slightly. You need to be cognizant of the fact that while you're incredibly mentally defeated right now, still doing those things is important while you fight through the grieving process.

Look for low-income mental health centers, too. The income cut off is incredibly high, and as long as you're honest about not being able to afford it they'll probably link you up with a cheap/free counsellor if you can find the time. Men's health centers often offer similar services.

You don't know me well, but I'm also will to be an objective ear to listen if you need to get something out. My inbox is always open.

  8. I always thought that people who got angry at Ferraro for comparing Jake to Hansen were drastically underselling how valuable that type of player can be in your top six.

Sure, it might not have been what you'd ideally want in the top ten of a draft, but it's the type of player that helps you win games.

Well, that's a plus.  Still rather have an offensive defenceman who can make the team right away.  But probability is that even if we are bad enough to finish last, the earliest we'll pick is fourth - I believe that was written into the NHL charter by Bettman along with his instructions to the supervisor of officials.

No, I am not paranoid, I only have a single noid.

    Stay noided.
