  1. I don't think people are aware that Tanev will probably ask for 4M at the end of the season.

Knowing Gillis, he'll probably give him a full NTC, as well.

Even PK Subban only got $2.875M AAV over 2 yrs as an RFA and that was signed during his Norris trophy season.

The only way Tanev gets $4.0M per in his next contract is if it's over 5-6 years and even that might be looked at as an over payment.

  2. What has given you the impression he could refine his game in Vancouver ? Im interested in the idea of a Booth Erat swap but its a mystery how it would work out for both teams .

I just find it funny when people try to act more informed about a player yet leave no reason for there opinion

The point of making such a trade is that it can't get any worse for either player. They're both rock bottom in their careers, so if you get anything out of them for the rest of their contract it's a bonus because right now they're both buy-out candidates. Maybe only one of them turns things around, maybe neither of them do? But a change of scenery can make all the difference in the world. That's why you consider making that trade.

  3. Oh, it's a good idea for us, but I can't see Washington doing this. Erat - despite having a poor season - still has way more trade value than Booth does. I'd happily add in someone who doesn't look like they will get a lot of playing time on our team (like Schroeder) to make this happen.

I think Washington would trade Erat for Schroeder one for one as it gets them out of the last year of Erat's contract, also Raymond has shown that smaller skill players have more success in the East.

Not sure I do that though if i'm MG. I still want to see what he can do when healthy. Plus his contract is dirt cheap this year. If he comes back and doesn't perform well, then maybe I would take another look at that trade proposal.

  4. In the pregame interviews Jamie Benn said he was a big Canucks fan growing up...can anyone confirm this? Because I've heard from family that he wouldn't ever want to play for Vancouver. What kind of Canucks fan is that?

Also, just an observation: Jordie Benn doesn`t get any media love out west. It's always about Jamie's return to BC.... but there's been 2 of them for a while now and we should recognize our homegrown talent regardless of whether or not they have 6 point nights.

  6. ain't karma a bitch

Dude, I'm just another broke bachelor, I've never sold tickets before. I live in Victoria and Elton John came to town a few months ago and people were paying 4x the ticket price! Ridiculous...so I thought I was quite the entrepreneur by purchasing these tickets :P

But whatever, they put on great shows and it'll be a blast....I'll worry about the visa bill later!

  7. So I bought 2 tickets to UFC 131 at Rogers Place and thought maybe I could sell them and make a little bit of a profit and little did I know that there was absolutely no market for these tickets. UFC 129 in TO sold 45,000 tickets on the 1st day! Anyway, I put them on craigslist for face value but I think I'm probably just going to have to end up going. Brock Lesnar really ruined the party! Not like it was the best card to begin with...

Anyone else going to UFC 131?
